Is there any special reason we can't have images in our signatures? I really want to make a nice signature for here, one that would be more difficult to use elsewhere without 'questions' and such...

But images are turned off :(

I wouldn't mind having my own images in the signature. I assume it's for the reason that it may drag down the server and also people on a slower connection would have problems everytime someone's post comes up with too large an image in it.

But hey......... I still can't upload my animated avatars. I can only use the ones on the site.

I will get something sorted later today. It's the only thing that I can't get working. I know there's various parts I can't use animations but my avatar shouldn't be one of them. All my animations work elsewhere on different types of bulletin board. ..... It's weird.

Hiya.... If yourself or one of the admin staff would pm me with their e.mail, I will send one of my animated avatars to see what the problems are... I can't seem to find any, as the said avatars work on a range of other sites.

Just a quick update, I'm still waiting for my damn dns to resolve...... can take up to 72 hours :( but as soon as it's resolving... the smilies/avatars will be up and running again.....

Most web browsers have a preference to turn off graphic animation. Check through your preferences and options to see if there's anything that does that for your browser, SatinDreams.

Very strange indeed. It's never happened before and nothing has changed on my pc... It's animated now again but I wonder what will happen when it comes to changing it.

Works fine on other vB sites and also on my own (phpBB) site.I've fixed this problem today as you know satin, but I'll just make everyone else aware. This issue was due to the upgrade and it put by default, registered members (not mods or admins) to unable to upload animated avatars. Obviously this wasn't the same for mods/admins so we couldn't figure out what it was until I stumbled on it quite by accident yesterday. It's all fixed now :D

I'm not sure if I found the new avatars in the quick links and then edit avatar or if there are more somewhere else. I have looked at site that have all kinds of them but I have no idea how to use those sites. Thanks Missy.

There aren't any new avatars except for the ones you can select in your user cp. They have just been moved to the cd.com server instead of me hosting them on mine.

Yes you could be right Satin. If you are allowed on the site to save pictures to use elsewhere, right click on the picture you would like to save, click 'save as' and choose a location on your pc where to save the picture. Pictures used for this forum have to be 125x125 pixels or it can't be used. Once you have saved the picture, go to your user cp and on the left hand side you will see an option called 'edit avatar'. You can then choose to either use a generic one, one from a website if you are allowed or the place you save the picture on your pc.

If you need any help resizing etc, just PM me.

PS.. Mine should be animated (its a blinkie type one)... Doesn't seem to work on here.
