Hello there Ladies,

Just wanted to give a quick report of my trip to transformations in London.

I was amazed at how easy it was to find with the store right next door to Euston Station. The street felt a little dodgy but safe enough. With lovely bit white frosted windows I knew that my discression was assured.

Inside I was given a rather frosty greeting by a lady with shoulder length blond hair. She asked me several times whether I knew where I was and what sort of shop it was. I explained that I was just looking and she then went on to say "Hmm so you have no intention to buy then, I see".

I have to say that I was shocked and confused at how rude the introduction to the shop had been, I was really looking forward to my visit and ended out feeling bad right from the start.

Seeing I had come all the way from Australia I did not want to let the rude service stop my shopping so I had a look at all the wonderful items for sale. Right as you enter there is a big selection of breast forms. I never realized just how big you could get them. They had a wide range of types and prices which was good to see. I will have to save up a bit to get the pretty set that I saw tho... :)

Down the back there was a good selection of magazines, books and catalogues. In this section was also wigs and makeup. There were some great video;s that really caught my eye. One on how to do makeup and another on passing as a girly girl. I think that the next time I go I will be sure to get these.

THe next section has shoes and sexy undergarments that were beautiful, all those frilly undergarments I knew I would like to come back.

There was a bargin basement downstairs that I did not go into as I was feeling very unwelcome in the shop and sadly wanted to leave.

Has anyone else shopped at transformations? I sure hope that I just caught the lady on a bad day as I am still tossing up to go back or not. Perhaps there are some Londoners that would love to have a friend accompany them on a shopping trip :)

I would love to find out your experiece if you have been lucky to visit.

Hi Maxine,

I was very interested to read about your experience at Transformations, actually I was a shocked and disappointed at the unwelcoming reception you recieved. I live only about 60 miles from London and have often considered going to Transformations for a makeover and dressing session, but having read your thread I'm reluctant now. In their advertisements they make reference to the welcoming and 'putting you at ease' atmosphere of their establishments, I would be very put off if I wasn't treated in a very polite and understanding manner; I think most of us CD's would be a bit embarassed by staff who were not understanding and sympathetic to our feelings.

Let me know if you try any other establishements that you are more happy and relaxed with.

Hugs,

Linda.

Maxine,

I hope you didn't buy anything from there. Transformations products are of poor quality and are overpriced for what they are. You would be much better going to Doreens Fashions. Staff are far friendlier and products a lot cheaper.

Linda,

Try either The Boudoir http://www.theboudoironline.com/whatsnew.htm or Pandoras http://www.pandoradepledge.com/ for a far better and friendlier service than Tra*******ion.

well back to transformations I love the place and will go back as soon as I have some spear cash I was treated so well

i must say i have used transformation on a number of occasions for makeovers. i used the bristol shop before it closed.

i couldnt compliment them enough, yes they were expensive but i felt it worth the price considering the service. the first question i was aked was would i like a coffee the second question was wht was my femme name. from that point on i was known as paula and nothing was too much trouble....i loved every minute of it!!!

can totally agree with you there . bought my breast forms from there a year or so ago and they couldn't have been more helpful , kind just generally brilliant not to mention the fact of their stock being under half the price of transformations.honestly I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I used to use he transformations in bristol as well and whilst the staff there were okay , you could tell that they wanted to part you with as much money as possible .

To me they seemed very much into the 'seedier' side of xd'ing . This may suit some but didn't really feel right for me.

Transformations were the first service of the kind, and thought they could treat all TG's like cash cows...

The multitude of dressing services that have sprung up are good, but i still think that they pander to the "secretive" side of cross dressing, and the cost of some of the escorted trips out... wow...

So glad i haven't used a dressing service since early 1995... I've saved myself so much money!

Doreens are good, but again i found them a bit hard sell when i went there, but the forms i got are totally fab, the best £125 i ever spent. The wig i got when i was there has been worn twice, and has remained in it's box ever since... So has the top i was sold!

Easier to buy off the high street i think...

I think Transformations do serve a purpose, but there are a lot better (and cheaper!) options out there.
I am also a fan of Doreens. I was put completely at my ease as soon as I entered the shop, was offered coffee and taken to a more private part of the shop when they realised I was more than a little nervous and saved over £120 (compared to Transformation) on the breast forms I bought, a bargain at a mere £80.
As for dressing services, I am really not qualified to comment as I have never used one. Both The Boudoir and Pandora's seem to constantly gain good reviews. And I have to say from my experience of the Transformation shop in Birmingham I really don't think I would want to have a makeover there. It was at best grotty and at worst something of a health hazard.

Ditto! I have used the Transformation shop in Bristol (before it closed) several times mostly for changeaways. Yes, I now live in the US and it was quite a few years ago, but the wonderful staff there treated me with the utmost respect and good nature.

They gently pressed me to look and perhaps buys items in the store but not in a heavy handed way..besides that's their job. I never did buy anything except a wig and a few fiction titles because it was way too expensive.

I have no idea why they closed but I'm thinking it was that they weren't as cut throat and "hard sell" as other stores like London maybe? 0.02

Gemma thank you so much for that useful info, I've logged on to both sites and will be using the boudoir chat room later.

I am assuming that the transformations you are reffering to is the same as transformation.co.uk? I am a member of the site and spent a lot of money on it once (online, not in shop) and I can safely say that the products being sold were hugely overpriced and bad quality once they arrived - although I will continue to be a (free) member of the site I shall NEVER buy from them again.

the forms i got are totally fab, the best £125 i ever spent.

I ended up buying a pair of breast enhancers from Marshall Ward mail order catalogue (www.marshallward.co.uk) before I went full-time and they did the job perfectly - at just £14!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Gemma for the useful information.

I had been trying to find some items and was reluctant to purchase from Transformations.

I hope that someday you UK girls can make it to the U.S. specifically, Chicago where we have our little studio. Things are so wonderful here, I am so very careful to treat every girl with the most heartfelt respect. We are truly happy to have girls come and visit us, I just can't imagine treating customers in the way you girls have been treated. If you are ever in our neighborhood, look us up. Love to all,
Theresa
