(I thought this was supposed to go on Technical Questions, etc. but when I just went there and clicked New Thread I got "Butterfly Bill, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:", neither of which looks like it applies to me. I have been able to post to that section before.)

Suppose I would like to empty my Private Messages box here on to my own box at home, so I can clear out the one here. Is there an easy way to do this in bulk, or do I have to click thru every one of them and download them individually?

You have to cut and paste. There is no SMTP or POP3 protocol on the message system.
Warm regards,
Christina Nicole

Warm regards,
Christina NicoleThis is actually incorrect. You do not have to cut and paste each PM. If you scroll right down to the bottom of the PM page, you will see this at the bottom: -

Download all Private Messages as :
XML | CSV | Text

You can choose to save ALL of them in one go and you do not have to highlight any of them. This option saves them all in bulk to whatever location you choose on your own pc.

I will post publicly the reply I made to Holly:

What you said worked, but none of those three formats gave them to me in a format that was easy to read.

In XML (viewed in Mozilla)I get the messages separated by CSS instructions, and it doesn't send the master style sheets.

The CSV made my computer open it in an Excel spreadsheet.

The text file had a bunch of those [codes] that apparently only the CD.com board program can interpret.

I sure wish I could get them in straight HTML.

And why am I barred from starting new threads in this section?

And why am I barred from starting new threads in this section? It's not just you Bill, no one can start a new thread in this section, Not sure if it is set up that way on purpose, or if it is a bug in the forum software....

It's not just you Bill, no one can start a new thread in this section, Not sure if it is set up that way on purpose, or if it is a bug in the forum software....Wasn't a bug, it wasn't set up right ;) Hopefully I've just fixed all the errors.

If members want to test posting a new thread, please do and we will delete them later.
