View Full Version : How do I change my name?

Hi. Sorry to be a bother but I can't figure this out.

Apparently, after using my exising name in the chat room since my arrival at this site, I was told I could not use the word "girl" in my official chat room name. I was hurriedly booted from the chat room before I could politely ask for an explanation after a somewhat cryptic message from the room moderator. I came back the next day and, thankfully, a really nice person explained things. Oddly, the person who twice rudely booted me from the room had seen my name in the chatroom for months, if not longer and nothing was ever said during all that time. I strive to be polite, especially in the lobby and felt truly insulted afterward. All that was required was a simple explanation rather than uninvited rudeness.

I tried to change my name but could not find a function to do so. My questions are as follows:

1) How do I change my name or does an official here have to do that for me?

2) Does changing my name remove forum postings and profile info previously associated with my soon-to-be former name?

Thank you in advance for any help.

Lacey

Hi Lacey

Welcome to this forum I hope you enjoy it here.
To answer your questions.

Please note the chatroom has no official link with this site.
your name there will have to be corrected by them

Your name here has to be changed by a moderator.
You will not lose any previous posts.

If I can be of more help just ask.
I suggest you sen a private mesage to sharon who seems to have the task of changing names.

Hi Lacey

As Shelly said, we have nothing to do with the chat room's operation, and since I don't go there, I really can't tell you how to contact someone.

If you want to change your name here, contact Sharon, this is something an administrator has to handle.

LOTS of thanks for the quick explanation.

I'd like to keep my name for the forum as I've grown quite attached to it.

Thanks again. You both are very very sweet to take the time to help.

Love,

Lacey
