They most always do that and at the very worst of moment's just when you ahve gotten stuff just the way you want it they crash or tell you that you arte not registerd or something then you have to either sit on it or try again.
I can not tell you how many time's in the past that that stuff has happened to me. it just make's ypu so very mad. Having to either try to do it all over again or trying to come back later. Oh well until comp's have some kind of reasoning powers they will do that to you!:.
I do hope that you are not to terrible destressed. And that you might see it later and come back and tell us once again just whatever might be on your mind. we do want to hear from you.
Thank's Suzy!:.

I've been "had" in the same fashion. Put my whole heart into a comment and POOF it's gone. If I think that I'll end up getting wody with a reply I put everything onto word pad first so that I can spell check it and be sure it's what I want to say then copy it to the post. If for some *%$*%$ reason it won't accept me, at least I haven't lost everything.

If I'm typing a really long posting, I sometimes type it in a word processor (because you never know, your computer might decide to crash or reset), or sometimes I'll at least copy all of it in the clipboard in case my browser crashes. although, even if you weren't logged in, couldn't you at least have hit the back button where you were typing?

Everyone - you need to check the "Remember Me" box when you log in, otherwise you will be logged out after 15 minutes.

Dana is right. I had the problem befor I checked the box. Solved. Another problem I had was "cannot post; not loged in". Re-typed the post, submited, and found both posts had published. That too seems resolved.

And if you forget to check that box or don't remember if you checked it, when making a long post, copy (Ctrl+C) it just in case. Ctrl+V to paste in your post is a lot easier than retyping the whole thing.

This has happened to me :(. Do you have to click the "Remember me" box every time you log in ?

Yes, if you want to avoid getting time logged out.

I am a computer technician. Try the back button and your last page including all you wrote with probally be there. It has happened to me a number of time.
It has always worked.
The system will sign you off after a while for security.
Another hint is to write in a word processer with the spell checker they paste to the forum box. Save the document untill you get it posted.
PS the computers know you call them bad names and will respond in kind. Be nice and they will be nice back!
I use firefox not IE.

Nope. This has happened to me a number of times here. Your lost reply is surely cached somewhere on your machine, but nowhere that your browser can back its way into.
As DanaJ noted, click "remember me", and you won't get logged out if you take 15 minutes pondering your reply.
Jane's suggestion that you compose a lengthy reply in software that resides on your computer (for example, Windows Notepad), rather than in the "reply" window, is also excellent.

It has worked with me a number of times but the last time it did not work. Not sure why. Was using firefox but had many more windows open so that might have been the problem the last time. Also was not logged on that long when it said I was not logged on. It was a pain to have to write it all again.
