The time difference is a real hassle for Aussies when we want to talk to you as you all are many hours behind and the north american users are mostly a day behind !!!
Never mind we'll still have fun talking.

echoing others - when I recently joined; there's supposedly an option to convert GMT time to one's local time> I have that as well - but only GMT shows...
I started this thread when I frist joined. Here's what I did.Instead of looking at the cities, look at the time diff.Louisvlle,Ky should be GMT -5 hours. I put it at GMT -3 hours now my login and other times are correct.See if that works for you as well. :)
I live in NC, USA the time I have on my computer now is:
Sunday August 1 @ 10:25pm
everyone can see the time difference now
According to my calulations there is a 2hr 20min time difference. to me the 20min is odd.

Due to the fact that I spent 10 yrs in the military I have something of an understanding of GMT. The problem with it is that it can be confussing if you are not use to seeing it. The only real purpose for it is so that there is a reference when going from one time zone to another. Especially if you are trying to pass time critical information to someone in another part of the world.
This is about the only time that GMT is even used and now in some instances the time is give as the hour and then marked as local time so that the reader knows that a conversion is needed.
Due to the rang of locations that we all come from may be why the creator decided on GMT instead of going with their own time or a time in a local sone close by.
