View Full Version : Contacting Mods

There are a lot of Mods now and some are online and some aren't at any one time. Sometimes members wonder what happened to a thread or a post or have some other 'urgent' query so the easiest way to communicate is to start a thread in the Lounge or wherever "Why the hell was my photo removed!"
Because otherwise you have to send a PM to about 24 Mods saying "Why the hell was my photo removed!" etc in order to find out who and why and what the problem is.
This causes bad feeling in the long run.
So what is the best way to find the right person and get a quick response for an immediate problem?

Having been mod on another forum myself, PMing and stuff because of edited posts can become annoying. On the other side it belonged to the mods forums rules and obligations to fill the field "reasons for editing" or "reason for moving" etc. each time. That usually answered most questions.

most of the probs would be avoided if discretion/or sense was used by the poster, just my 0.02

It's not any particular problem of mine. Just something I noticed. I wondered what was the best approach given that it is now difficult to ask a question to "them up there" given that some of them might be off line, some not know what you are talking about etc.

the other thing i noticed that the most of the mods are invisible even when they are online....how are we meant to know they are there

This is why we have a FAQ/RULES (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/faq.php), which hardly anyone reads....
Right of Content (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/faq.php?faq=main_rules#faq_content)
The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to Edit, Lock, Remove or Relocate any thread/post. If a thread/post is removed and is against any of the forum rules, the staff will not always contact that member by PM/Email.
If something has been deleted, then we may or may not PM that member. If it is a new member, we will contact them to read the rules, if it's a member that has been here for a long time and their post is removed, well they should know better.
There is also a 'contact us' (http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/sendmessage.php) link on every page, this goes straight to my email, which I check quite often.
As for moderators being hidden, well like any other member, it is their right to do so, or it would be disabled.
<Edit> Just an FYI, but everything we do on this forum is logged in our staff section, so all staff are aware if something has been removed against forum rules.

You've been contacting me regularly. Did I ever fail to respond to you?

I am always available either by PM or e-mail and if I can't deal with it or not sure about then it would be passed on asap to another mod who can.

No. Why do you assume it is a criticism? It was simply a question as to whether there is a quick method of contacting the relevant Mod should a member have a question that they feel is important.

I've given enough information here to the question asked, this thread is now being closed. If you've had a post removed and you don't know why, I suggest you read up on the forum rules, they aren't there for fun!
