As it states in the title, I would like ONLY FTM's to answer this question please... and because I want them all to myself :heehee:
So... talking of smilies, I've noticed throughout the forum that a lot of you guys seem to use this one quite a lot :heehee: I do to, because I think it's cute and quite funny... So guys, why do you use that one in particular?
If you don't use it, which one is your favourite? and why and does it pertain to your gender/personality in any way?

I like that one 'cause I'm always joking around . . . well, okay not always, but a lot of the time. :heehee: (see?)
I also like the tongue-y ones:
:p :tongueout
I wonder why . . . ?
Also the grinney ones: :D :bs:
And of course, all the piratey ones! :bg:

I wonder why . . . ? :thinking:LOL... I am not even going to take that where it could go... *takes self back to corner*....
:heehee::p I like these two because it's a quick way to show I'm joking or that something's funny.
The pirate ones are fun, of course. :skull:
:yahoo: This one's cool too.

......but i have been known to use :raspp: :dancing: :^5: :jumping: :nailbiting: :notlistening:  :whistling: :Party2:
Why? because it brings expression and colour to a post, not to mention sometimes the smiles can say everything without ever having to type a sentence
oh and ive done two posts cos i could only fit 10 on!

i don't think i generally use smilies, i think the one i've used most ofter is this one: :drink: but i think the reason a lot of us use that one (:heehee:) is because there's often a fair amount of sexually referenced banter, which makes sense among a bunch of boys, i don't know if i'm just reading into it too much though

I absolutely love the piratey ones. :skull:
And when I use an emoticon, I try to pick one (or two) that would best convey the meaning of my words. Since you can't see expressions or hear a tone of voice on a message forum, I need to clarify how I'm trying to say something through the use of these smilies. I often try to find the one that best matches the actual expression on my face. Or in the case of action ones (like hugging or slapping) I use those when I'd actually do that in real life (give someone a hug, or whack someone on the head lightly for saying something slap-worthy).
And did I mention that I love the pirate ones? :bg:
Now as for this one -->:heehee: I use it when I'm giggling as opposed to laughing (yes, men giggle!)
I don't think I have a favorite, but the pirate ones pertain to my gender in the sense that there's a FtM pirate theme with this site that I like.

My favorite one as you all know is :hugs: cos thats the sort of person I am!
I do like :heehee: when I'm being cheeky or :p
I do use :o and
I like  not only for the obvious but to cheer peeps up cos of the flowers.
These are the main ones I use I guess xx Felix :hugs:
if you look back at my posts i think i dont use them much but i do use :) and :( because they let you no if im happy or sad
I like these the most:
- :drink: Because it reminds me of rum and partying - for some reason this emoticon helps when I'm lonely...I think it's sort of a visual for me of getting drunk, but without actually GETTING drunk. I associate drinking and getting drunk with parties and people (I never drink alcohol alone) so I guess there's a psychological factor there? *shrug* I also seem to like it when i'm in a good mood.
- I like all the tongue ones, just because they're silly.
- The :D and :bs: for two reasons: one, I usually have a big stupid grin on my face, and two, they creep me out yet make me laugh at the same time.
- I like the kick and slap ones (I don't really know why, I just do, even though I don't use them myself)
- On the other side of the spectrum, the :hugs: is one I use when it seems someone is in need of one, or when someone has just shared one with me and I'm returning the favor.
- I use the two cents one when I'm feeling too lazy to type out "two cents" or "2 cents".
- The party/dancing emoticons are great. :rave: :danceman:
- The pirate ones are cool, I noticed the pirate theme right away. My favorite out of the pirate emoticons? :bg:
- The giggle one is kind of a cheeky little emoticon to me, and I associate it mainly with not-so-innocent things and/or mischief.
- I use the thumbs up one sometimes to say "Hey, I like that idea!"
- :404: This one has me PMSL!
- Even though I haven't used them, I LOVE the bow and arrow emoticons. I'm not into guns much, but I've been interested in archery since I was 8 or so. I also like swords and pocketknives.
- :meditate: The meditation emoticon reminds me of peace and silence to get in touch with the deeper side of yourself. I've always been the type of person that goes in depth with the analysis of myself and others, and this one is a great emoticon to express that, to me. I look at Zen's signature a lot because he has this emoticon in it.

That's cool. I was already a black belt when I took custody of my brother and I got him started too. He had his own personal trainer (me) and he went through the belts quicker than the other students because of it. People were so jealous. haha
