It happens - but it is pretty rare..
Yeah, it's happened to a few people I know (mostly in Manchester, which has a high trans population) and also to me in Bristol last year... I think people understand just how important it is to us and how it destroys our dignity? Thankfully in the UK it's treated pretty seriously by the police, they do view it as an assault to the person.
When it happened to me, yes, it's embarrassing - but as I also had blood streaming down my face and my assailant in a headlock, it wasn't the primary priority to get it back and regain my composure - but it was second on the list? :D
I guess it's a little akin to a genetic woman having her skirt pulled up, or her pants pulled down - the same level of assault to one's inner self - but they're both pretty rare?
