    Dress how you want

Dress how you want to dress. That's what this site is all about. If you are starting hormones, then the doctor will definately understand.

    Good luck.

Go dressed as you want. Just remember, unless this doctor has already recently examined you, he/she may decide to do an exam. Good luck and congratulations.

Wear what you want If it were me I'd dress as a female, but I'm 24/7 anyway. Youre going to start taking hormones why not go fem. This way the doc knows your serious good luck.

If you are going on hormones you better be wearing girls clothes, honey !!

You could just wear a nice pair of slacks and a simple round neck top. Sandals or flats for shoes and off you go! Most women don't get dressed up to go to the doctor. They usually have to take some clothing off, so they keep it simple.

Don't wear anything at all, they're probably going to ask you to take off your clothes anyway, why go through all the hassle? Putting them on, taking them off, putting them back on again. So tedious. Just teasing. As the other girls said, just wear whatever feels right at the time. If you're going in for HRT then the doc already knows you're TG, it won't matter how you present for them, but how you feel yourself.

Good for you, Mandy, you must be so excited, I know I would be. Best of luck, sweety.

"Because equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women. And the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who's confronted with it."

Dress in a way that makes you feel comfortable. This could be girlie cloths or male cloths or even mixed. There isn't a right dress code for the first visit just be yourself. They will understand you better than you can imagine.

My employer changed medical insurance carrier and I needed to get a physical and I knew that my toenails and shaved body among other things would give me away, so I wore male type/female clothing like women's jeans, clogs, t-shirt with french cut sleeves, hoop earrings, light powder and light lipstick. After the medical stuff got taken care of, we talked about my crossdressing and she asked typical questions like my sexual orientation, how my wife reacted, if I dressed like that all the time, etc. It was a good visit.

I returned a couple of days later for some additional blood work and a follow up from some initial tests and decided to dress entirely enfemme. Upon seeing me, it was like a light went on and she started to understand what I had originally shared with her. Now I dress every time that I go for an office visit and the staff is totally accepting. Additionally, it doesn't bother me one bit to sit in the waiting room with the other patients. We all just mind our own business as I'm sure will be what you experience.

Doctors really don't care about how you're dressed sweetie. I went to a specialist yesterday and my body is shaved and toes painted cotton candy. He never blinked, stammered, or was anything less than professional.

When I realized I wanted to transition I was do for a physical so I underdressed and went in. The doctor and his med student did the exam and before and afterward interview. I requested a referral and he set it up. Both were understanding and very professional. The med student, did I say she is a drop dead gorgeous woman. Bend over dear, auggggggg. Now turn your head and cough, okay? LOL Do I want to go back, yep.

Dress as you want and be truthful, they will understand.

Smile When I realized that I was probably Transsexxual

I chose to dress as Kimberly to every doctor I went to, but mostly dressed up the most to my Therapsit and to my HRT doctor. No one was taken back or anything. In fact my HRT doctor wanted me to tell every other doctor that I went too, my transition plans.

As far as the first visit with my doctor who is overseeing my hormones, she basically complimented me on my nose and said "you have a nose that women would die for" and also said I have some other nice feminine facial features as well. Then she got down to business, asked me why I wanted to transition, looked at my letter from my therapist etc. and was satisfied with that. She then went into the regimen of hormones, what specifically I'd be on, the dosages etc and what effects they have, what dangers they have etc. She told me what foods and beverages to avoid as they may affect the hormone levels etc..what medical tests that I will continue to take for men (prostate), even after future surgery and what additional tests for women to have done, like monthly breast exams etc. She also told how often the blood work is to be done and how she works. She also explained that she uses the estradiol cream method which minimizes the likelyhood of blood clotting from the estroghen. The likelyhood of blood clots increases significantly with using oral based pills, as it gets absorbed thru the liver primarily before getting into the blood system. So the safer choices are creams, patches, injections vs tablets.

Plus I felt very comfortable with her as a doctor, like the hair club for men president say's, "I'm not only the president I'm also a client". My doctor is a very beautiful woman herself, she transitioned about 9 years ago. So I figure from personal experience she knows best..

It's very important to get a doctor that you trust and can work with. But most of all, good luck with transition. And enjoy the hormones they have nice affects on you. Kimberly Marie Kelly
