Made some hip pads..

I bought some really nice work trousers, but altho they fit really nice, i wasn't happy with my hips and bum in them!! and how they fit across the front (cause i got no nature hips or bum! lol )

Before:



so i made some hip pads! Bought some soft 1 inch thick foam, and made two hip/bum pads

Took a while shaping them but fairly pleased with the end result. Used a pair of those extra thick and tight hip and waist pants to make them fit and make it appear more natural:



The end result:





Its strange!! because, i love seeing the shape of my hips from my own eyes, and love how they make my bum and crotch area look - but i do feel a little conceous that i now got big hips!!! (if that makes sense!!)

Its odd how u look in the mirror can mess with ur brain!!

I cut out two curved L shaped pieces that were big enough to cover my upper leg and around to the top of my bum area!

Then had to shape the edge down loads so it would fit fairly flush!!

Kept doing trial fits and further trims until it look good enough!!

Did take about 2 hours tho - with scissors, would prob be easier with a sharp knife to get a smoother cut!

good job! I've tried the foam cutting myself and can say that a knife doesn't do much better... I was told at the craft shop that an electric carving knife would be the best, but didn't have great results either.

You've ended up with a realy nice shape there!

Great results! I've thought about doing this before and think I will give it a try after seeing that it does work. But 1 inch was thick enough? My initial instinct would be to go a little thicker, either by getting thicker foam or doubling up.

That is such a great idea....i've been avoiding trousers because of exactly that reason...will have to get some of that foam, have been experimenting with some old scarfs under my tights since reading this..bit tricky though..but its amazing what a little bit of padding does..thanks...thats on my to do list now..you like great..

Craft stores suggest electric knife to cut foam shapes but the perfect tool is an electric heat knife. It allows you greater flexability in contouring which results is finished edges. You can purchase different styled padden panties, remove the pads and use as a guide while customizing replacements to fit the look your seeking. Knifes like those I'm refering to can be purchased off the internet from manufactures.

Now, u may understand WHY I go to so great lengths to look more FEM! It's ALL about what I see in my mirror!

I've made a number of sets of hip/butt pads out of foam. And had GOOD LUCK using scissors. But, u need REALLY SHARP ONES!

Start by making large cuts. ( They end up looking like gouges). Then, make smaller and smaller cuts, until your pads r smooth, and gradually tapered!

This certainly looks like a copy of a product on sale in the UK except not of the same high standard.

But the hip pads in this product are the exact same shape as you have done.
