recomendations on "cross dressing guides"

I am seeing a lot of guides offered on the internet, such as:

I am sure there are a lot of other ones out there that I have come across and lost in my many bookmarks.

What are your experiences? Do any of these have information that I am unable to find "out on the net"?

I am specifically looking for ones that work on feminine movement and voice.

I want to buy every one that I come across but the budget doesn't quite allow it with all the clothes, makeup, breast forms, and wigs that I just "must" have!!

Im not going to say they are not worth the time or money thats not for me to say. iv seen very few . & more likely not see any more .
As for me i would rather be my self as a woman . not a copy or act a part. even my voice will be me with out going through the motions of trying to be what im not .
you see & i know you will say why not,
because i live every day with people they accept the way i am . & many did 50 years ago. & still do . my new friends dont give a damm. they see just me as a person a woman who is different. yet is one with them.
Now i know many of those of you will out rank this girl in lots of ways looks manerisms hair make up & yes look far better than i ever will .& pass,

yet i have acceptance , Im not really sure now being in front of 1000s of people & talked with a lot of people would it make any difference now after 13 years being there .

is it that important to you & others for short times or is it long term or dont you think you pass,
as i said im coming from being a woman who lives it . & no detail or problems.
Tho i was brought up as a lad,
Yea i know im out of place & its not what you need any way still interesting to see anothers side of it .

I know of no guide that can help you be yourself. If you want to learn proper deportment, there is a whole, real world of ladies out there for you to observe and learn from. As for voice training, I can only suggest the same answer aqs was given to the person who asked the question, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The answer- practice, practice, practice. The number one thing you can do is to accept yourself for who you are. Best wishes.

Actually, what I have discovered is that I can refine my own look thru a combination of experimentation, practice (especially in make-up application....this can really make a BIG difference in your look), and just watching women in how they move, talk, act, dress, and interact, and you can learn a whole lot more than from a website or book, tho these can also be a useful guide as well. Also, discovering just what your style is, really is no different than gg's as they grow up and experiment. Bottom line.....just have fun....and take lots of pics!!!

When I was first starting to do the "full dress" thing I purchased a DVD from Denae Doyle. It helped me develope a definite female walk, after 2 weeks practice. I've been tempted to purchase some of her other advanced DVDs to see what else she could teach me. I think on movement and speech that books are going to be next to useless! You need visuals and audible help to acheive both of these. Good luck and practice, practice, practice.....

Any recommendations of DVDs or the like would also be of help.
I have a few girlfriends that are helping me but they are finding it hard to explain what I am lacking in movement and voice.
I am thinking of taking some dance classes. My SO would love that too.

I haven't seen either of these but I do think that they're a good idea - especially if you don't have a supportive SO or local support group from which to learn the finer points - of acting like, passing as and feeling like a natural female. I've had and studied the Denae Doyle DVDs and they're excellent. In fact, they're so good that I think many GGs could even learn a thing or to - about being more feminine and more lady-like (albeit in a more traditional sense). I'd recommend her DVDs highly.

The help and advice on this forum is exceptional! The breadth and depth of experience available here has been very helpful to me as well.

However, the reason I recommend Denae Doyles DVDs is because she covers, in great detail, and with video, a lot of aspects that are very difficult describe and largely foreign - even to many GGs.

For example: how to sit down, put on your coat, get into and out of a car - look feminine at the same time. The male/female differences in these actions are sometimes fairly subtle and other times glaringly obvious. She teaches by demonstration (hence the videos) and she understand the challenges in our community.

I think she may even be at the Souther Comfort Conference this week...:-)

Voice is another story, I've got several videos and I've watched everything on Y-Tube but I've come to the conclusion that it's much more difficult for the average person (like me) to form feminine voice unless you have a coach or friend to provide feedback.

I found the "LadyLike Deportment with Paula Jordan Sinclair" DVD from CDS Pub./JoAnn Roberts very helpful for deportment tips. It may not a great choice for the younger folks though, since they may find it a bit dated (unless, like me, they wish to have a more mature/elegant presentation )
