Thread: My goal is to be a crossdresser

Red face My goal is to be a crossdresser

I've known for a while that I can't pass for a girl. So lately
I've just been accepting that I want to embrace myself as
A cd (not ready for public outings just yet).

Last week for the first time ever I openly bought pantyhose
Beautiful 4 inch heels and a clingy purple dress. I have no idea
    How I got the courage.

My next problem is makeup. I'm still uncomfortable buying it
Around girls. It screams "queen! to me.

Would Halloween makeup, powder, false eyelashes, lipstick
    And eyeshadow work for now??

Of course that would work...don't you know...Halloween is our holiday. We can get away with many things, even if onl for today, and not get "outed"

not to worry about what the sa think as most of them would gladly help you. no judgment.
i have found the little one of shops are great places to spend my money, and the big stores have a lot more things at lower prices. nobody cares, but yes every so often there will be a mouth breather, (really not very often ) just let it fall off you and life will be great.
i won a prize at the gems sparkle this past, week look into this it is a disk set of "how to be a woman" by Denae Doyle. it is going to help me a lot. it is about poise, movement and charm. kinda like the upper crust boarding school for girls.

Yeah, get yourself some Halloween makeup for now. By the time you start running low, Christmas makeup gift sets will be in the stores.

you know like you I still get nervous when buying anything fem but I feel more comfortable if I mix in guy things. If I need help or when is time to pay I try to look for an older sales person. They don't seem to mind or pay attention to who you are and are usually more helpful.

I first bought makeup at night at Walmart. I reseached online what I needed and tried my best to get it in the makeup section. Nowday i just go to Sephora and ask the girls there for help.

This is a no brainer, put on your big gurl panties and go to the store and ask for help getting your makeup. Just tell them that you are going to a Halloween party and you are going as a woman. At the big dept stores the stuff is good, but expensive. But if you got a Ulta store near by, they will help you with either the premier brands or drug store brands. They carry both....BJ

I can certainly empathize w/ you reluctance to buy in drab. Half my waredrobe is VS and bought on line. I still buy on line from them 'cause it's cheaper than the stores. But......

The first time you buy a dress, inquire about make up, try on shoes, or browse BB&b and it's obvious that your interest is to become feminine to a helpful SA and your heart races a bit, you'll be hooked. As soon as you realize that you ARE feminine and that you want to look and act that way you'll stop worring about haloween and enjoy being you.

You'll get there. Enjoy the journey.

You need to find another cd'er who can take you under their wings and help you out. Where are you located so we might be able to find someone to help you get out the door soon?

It's really OK, We are all crossdressers to one extreme or another. Being a crossdresser can be fun, exciting, glamorous, (fill in the blank) . Don't just settle for goodness sake. Once you have had your first makeover, you will be singing with the rest of us "Queens", although I prefer the title Dutchess Dewinter .

Hi my name is Gina and I am a crossdresser! I do get out in public, and it took me a bit to realize my passing will be as a CD. I have not had any problems and am just a run of the mill ordinary CD. In some ways it was liberating to accept that because it has begun to free me from being concerned about passing as a woman. As times go by I become more comfortable just being me, and people as a whole will be more comfortable with me. Though a drag princess also sounds kind of nice, I'm not ready to be a Queen just yet.

Or, you can buy any time of year and just lie if it makes you feel better.

My SO and I were at Payless and he was trying on 4 inch silver pumps. The SA came over and had a weird expression on her face. Ryan was like 90 shades of red and I thought he was going to explode into a big heaping pile of shame right there on the bench. I smiled sweetly and said that his fraternity was having a Drag Night for charity.

She thought this was EXCELLENT and even helped us with sizing. We even had Ryan walk around the store in his heels and he was now comfortable since he had his alibi.

Ditto, and ya know what.......I have a great time mixing it up with the other shoppers at the mall. The other shoppers hardly bat an eyelid and the SA's are sensational. You just have to overcome the "uncomfortable buying it around girls" bit though, as the vast majority of the SA's in dress shops and makeup shops are girls.

    Good luck with it all.

No one really cares what you buy.... Your the only person that's getting upset over this... If you have a hard time facing the checkout girl with your fem purchases... then buy your makeup at a newer Walmart or a grocery store that have self checkouts... Simple, quick and easy....

Look up transformation services. They commonly offer escorted evenings after a professional makeover. They know the right places to go and to be apart of an accepting enviorment. Good luck

Oh I felt the same way. But it's funny, I actually went out today and bought PROPER foundation/concealer stuff something the SA helped me with. I went as far as buying hair removal cream, pantyhose, and some funky little makeup kit that has everything in it! I chickened out by telling the SA I needed it for Halloween. That is of course a lie.
When I first asked her to help me with blemish/beard cover, she brought me to the corrective cream stuff (or something like that). I told her no... I want to cover my beard, not medicate it! She said, well all we have is makeup and I said BINGO! That's what I need! She was more than eager to pick out the right shade and tell me how to put it on (moisturizer and all) she even gave me a sampler bottle or the moisturizer.
When I went to get shoes, the SA asked if I'd roll up my pants so she could see my legs then asked if I was going to shave them. "...Nice legs! I wish mine were like that! Without the hair that is.."
You'll find people are willing to sell anything to anyone. Some get right into it, some are uncomfortable, and some might even laugh at you. Who cares? You want it? You get it. Unsure? Ask.

I feel your uneasiness and we've all been there. I finally went to a Harmon's Discount Cosmetics store looking for proper make-up. At first I started with the SA that it was for my wife etc etc. Finally I said that this was stupid and told her it was for me and explained what I wanted and what I was looking for. She was very helpful and I got it for a lot less than the big stores and I didn't waste my money getting the wrong shade. Whenever I go through that town I try to stop and get what I need. SA are there to sell not judge.

What helped me out at first when buying womens product was I took out my phone and pretended I was on the phone with a girlfriend, " honey what brand did you want, color?" It just takes alot of acting but it can be fun too. Eventually i moved on to holding a piece of paper as If i were doing errands for a girl friend.

If that is your picture on your avatar, what are you worried about? Like everyone who before me has said, "don't worry about it! Passing is a state of mind." Most of us who go out, under minimal scrutiny, will not pass but most of us are accepted because of the way we act. Heck, I see alot of women who hardly pass as women, my wife often comments that I look better than her, and her, and her! LOL!

I went into Victoria Secret just the other day and told the SA that I wanted to buy a pair of Christmas panties. She asked what size and I replied that it depended on the type; usually I wear a large but sometimes needed an xl. She smiled and took me to the Christmas selection and helped me with my purchase. What was she going to do, point and start laughing aloud? Most of the people in the store, including the SA were wearing VS panties.

    Merry Christmas!

Hah, that's my non-Christmas ploy... wandering the aisles studying my list God bless the self-service checkouts

Of course at Christmas you can buy anything - no-one cares The first time I ever bought a dress I asked about the return policy and the helpful (If unsuspecting)sales assistant thought I was husband of the year material for buying my wife something so tasteful

I figured out a trick buying some clothing yesterday morning... I walked around with my phone in one hand for most of the time, and when was asked (only once) if I needed help in the woman's wear section, I confidently answered "Just shopping by remote." and waved the phone in the air a few times! It worked just great for me.
    With love,
