What is/was the strangest thing to happen while being out and dressed?

I had the strangest thing happen to me yesterday. I went out partially dressed to a GM dealer In central NJ to have my car worked on, I had on a mens polo shirt, short pants and a pair of ladies silver thong sandals with some rhinestones on them. Apparently some of the GM sales team decided to take videos of me with their I phone as I sat in the waiting room. The same salesman spoke to another customer and said "I like wearing my wifes panties over my head"

I find this behavior ridiculious. most of the time I find polite people who have quesitons and I answer them, giving a little education in the process. But this....come on. There are signs posted all over companies about workers rights, including dress, gender and transgender....I guess it doesn't apply to customers!!! With sales people like that, no wonder GM is losing customers. heres a picture of my cute thong sandals that I got from Target.

That's not strange its down right rude!! Nothing like that ever happens to me. Only things like security asking me to stop taking photos of myself on the casino floor. Lol.

I acn't believe that they could be that rude, I can guaranty that I woul dnever step in that door again, And I would be sure that all my friends knew what happened as well as the General Manager of the dealer. Make sure he know exactly why your next vehicle will not be a GM.

When you get the questionnaire about the service you received that day, make sure you note on it the verbal treatment surrounding your visit. Maybe something will change.

    Misty,
There should be lots of GM dealers in central NJ. Find another one even if it was warranty work. You don't have to have the dealer that sold you the car work on it. Then let the Manager and the Regional Office know why you switched. Not that the dealership is owned by GM but I know people who work for GM and GM has a policy that is inclusive of TGed people. You might even want to tell GM directly along with the regional director. In this day and age, a letter from GM about a misbehaving dealership is probably the last thing the dealer wants.

I've known MANY car dealers, as acquaintances, and friends. They are BY FAR the most immature and rude group. Think of the 11th grade locker room all over again; but all day, not just that 10 minutes.. I'm NOT surprised at all.

definantley report them...I am sure the big shot boss man would agree that they have more pressing buisness to attend to than harrassing the customers in such an unmisktably rude and insensitive manner.

for a very short time ,less than 2 months , I tried to sell new cars, the education was well worth the time spent.
with all that spare time a car sales man has on their hands the one thing a manager does not want is a curious self educating person in a sales position, they want an addict, driven to sell anything at a the most inflated price possible.so both win. one to feed and one to gorge. addictions cause huge stress, huge stress makes for stunted emotional growth and maturation ,along with a an inablity to learn . Just like studies in rats and gorillas.

Maybe not the strangest but probably the most disgusting thing that happened recently was when I fell asleep sitting in a chair at the “quiet room” of a homeless shelter only to wake up suddenly and find some old guy standing there in front of me with his pants down looking at me while pleasuring him-self!
    Talk about a rude awaking!!!
“Why can’t you look at porn on you cell phone like everybody else around here” I said?
He pulled his trousers up and quickly ran out of the room.

I'm just wondering if you saw them taking the video or if you found out about it later?

Their behavior is not just rude but it is downright mean. Sorry to hear that it happened to you.

I think I have those same sandals. :-)

I think that behavior may be illegal, especially if they post it online somewhere. I would take two courses of action: make GM corporate aware of this incident and bring this to the attention of the dealership management. Do it in that order. You will get results.

I worked as a car salesman for several years. nothing you said surprises me. There is an old saying in the car business. "There are 2 kinds of people in this business, bible thumpers and pigs. No one knows which is worse". I have never met a more immature, intolerant bunch of a&&h$*es in my life and I was one of them. Shake it off, consider the source and get back out there.

Report it to Coorporate. GM is supposed to be one of the most tolerant large coorperations out there. I guess that doesn't apply in their waiting room and we all know that dealership waiting rooms are such joyous places anyway. I would definately find another dearlership and take my business elsewhere. Sounds like these neanderthals were just jealous because you had a shirt that didn't have grease and a name tape like Mac or Bubba on it.

Do not blame GM for the miss conduct of the sales people, but you should definitely notify GM corporate and the Dealership about there conduct. It will be dealt with and you may get some freebies for letting them know. Corporations need to know what the people that are representing there product are doing and they can't stop this type of conduct unless they are aware of it.

I've had a Ford, actually Mercury Cougar that I put 120k on and a Grand Marquis that I put 180K on. However when I as car shopping I just didn't like the ride that I got from the Fusion so I bought a Saturn instead. And unfortunately Saturn was discontinued by GM. So Warranty repairs are being done by GM now.

What division of GM service are you having an issue with ?
If the following doens't help, write to every single person all the way to the vice-president of the division.

There is no reason to shrink away from the dealer, you may find resolution by speaking with or writing a letter to the dealership owner.

I saw his I phone in his hand and could clearly see the phone on video...... Oh well, I reported the incident to GM via their website. That should make some one in upper management freak out in Detroit!

I own a Saturn, which was closed by GM so I have been taking my car to the Saturn Authorized dealer. Looks like i'll be taking it to another GM or Chevy dealer the next time.

That's the worst! The sad thing is, it's not illegal. I would tell his boss the entire story though. Might get him fired. Might not.

Don't judge general motors though. They can't control every asshole that works for them at every moment. They make quality automobiles and that's good enough for me.

Once I brought my Ford in for repairs. While i sat in the waiting area for more than an hour, three idle salesmen were engaged in a conversation about how slobby thier customers are,and how dirty thier cars are when they bring them in. Each story had to top the other. The last story involved a man who had thrown his soiled rubbers behind his seat. Luckily I endured the wait by chatting to a fine lady who was able to block out men and thier B.S.. I still own Fords, but no longer require the services of that particular dealer.
The scubs I wear are listed as unisex, anything else is crossdressing.

For me, one of the most surprising things that ever happened to me was when I stopped traffic on 7th Avenue in New York City. Yes, my skirt was short, and my legs were well shaped, and my heels made it look even nicer. But to stop traffic in two lanes to the point where people were honking horns while guys in 4 cars were checking me out - probably one of the biggest compliments I have ever been paid.

On the flip side, being at a store and having a man who was very overweight and a bit ugly follow me around the store and several times come up and stroked his hand up my legs. I finally dropped into base voice and said "I don't think I'm your type". His eyes popped open and he practically ran out of the store. It was a taste of what GGs go through - but I had a way to end it that GGs don't have. I can certainly understand their anger, fear, and frustration when I guy gets that aggressive.
