Would most men CD under the right circumstances

There's this old joke that a man asks this beautiful woman if she would go to bed with him for a million dollars. The woman responds, "yes."

Then the man asked the woman if she would go to bed with him for $100. She responds, "What kind of a girl do you think I am?"

His response is, "We already established that. Now we're just negotiating the price."

So the question is, are all men crossdressers to some degree?

    This thread

    http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...lly-told-my-GF.

Also got me thinking about the conditions under which men may CD.

I think many of us CDs have been in a position where we had the opportunity to CD, say for a GF, or Halloween party or some other sanctioned event that provided plausibile deniability, but we decided not to, mostly out of fear.

And many of us later regretted it.

But I was wondering about the average run-of-the-mill GM. What percent of them would CD, if given a chance, under the right circumstances. I think many typical men would love the opportunity to experiment with crossdressing, if their fears were alleviated, or if they were sufficiently motivated.

I think most men would consent to putting on a panty, and maybe a bra or more, if they knew they were going to get lucky, if you know what I mean, as a result. I think they would be even more motivated if they knew for an absolute certainty that no one else would ever, ever find out.

I think a lot of men are curious about women's clothing and makeup. I think a lot of men would crossdress as an experiment if they could be assured absolutely that no one else would ever find out, particulary, if they would look hot.

    What do you think?

Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.

I think that you are right. Now, I do not know nor think that "most" GM's would want to try some form of CDing. I may have been predispositioned to crossdress all my life. I don't really know, only the Shadow knows. However, I had the opportunity to dress for a costume party and I did and, naturally, loved every moment of it. Now at that time 31 years ago the thrill was the costume and the alter ego that I portrayed that night in front of everyone, from having the guys, who knew I was a guy, buying me drinks all night and occasionally fast dancing with me, to using the women's restroom with my secretary as my escort every time I needed to go. What happened after that super fun moment in my life regarding crossdressing? NOTHING! I went back to my normal life and never really thought about dressing as a woman until 5 years ago.

They might do it for monetary gain, or something like that. They wouldn't do it for the reasons WE do it. Either you're a crossdresser, or you're not. People who do it for a living have no gender or sexual connection to the clothes. We do. Which is not to say that there aren't crossdressers that work as female impersonators; I'm sure there are. But when you saw Patrick Swayze dress up in the movie, you can be pretty sure it was as a professional act. Same with Milton Berle.
Some causes of crossdressing you've probably never even considered: My TG biography at:http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...=1#post1490560
There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

My first urge was to say "no way!" But after some thought, I realized that I was basing the answer only on what other men have allowed me to perceive about them. There are all kinds of people carrying a freak card, no doubt. I'll bet there's a significant chunk that would do it out of curiosity, or based on the same electrifying undercurrents that so many of us have tapped into - given the caveat that nobody would ever find out.

As to the reasons why, I'm sure an even broader number would do it purely for money, to boost a career, etc, etc. Those aren't the people I'm talking about, nor I'm sure the people the OP was asking about. There are certainly more guys than you would expect that would do it "for the reasons we do." But I don't think those reasons are as clearly defined as some might think. I think in a basic sense, we all do it because of some deep, basic root force - without saying that that force manifests itself, or that we all perceive that force as having the same meaning. it's irrelevant, really. And defining CD or whatever is basically irrelevant also. It helps us and some others put a basic handle on things, like calling a color blue or red to place it at a relative position on a spectrum. But we're still all a part of a continuum of gender-description. Some are just more in tune with it than others, and some are just more willing to acknowledge it than others.

I think that believing that most men would C.D. if they could is just a away of making us feel better about doing it.
    The reality is probably no.

Not that I need to feel better about it obviosely.

Yeah, I think most men would experiment CDing under the circumstances you laid out. Some would do it more after I think. A few others will be confused and not know what to do about it, but I think at least close to half would never do it again, even though they probably would have fun.

Sadly, I know too many men who regard this is a perversion and would never have anything to do with it. These people tend to be devoid of imagination and are very much in the boys club. Having said sadly, I am not so sure... I am kinda glad they aren't in my club!

99.9% of men would "dress up" in some form or another, for one reason or another, but no most GMs would not crossdress, it is either in you or its not, it is not something you just do.

GM? Sorry I'm still quite new to the wonderful world of CD and not familiar with that one...

But to answer your question, I think personally "all" men have feminine side but they're just afraid to let it out due to so-called social norms and acceptable behavior between the genders. If people or men can get over that fear and the social rearing instilled into our psyche from a very young age regarding our gender roles, then yes, I think a lot of men would experiment at the very least and I think many would discover the pleasure in CD.

Absolutely NO WAY. Normal men have ZERO desire to wear female clothing.

I believe that the comment that most males are intrigued is correct, if as is stated here there is a bit of femme in all GM (genetic Male). Would most cross dress, no, as I believe the amount of femme present varies, and most do not have sufficient femme essence to get it going. I really do believe that they would be intrigued, and not in a sexual way, but the curiosity way. Thank god we have enough, as i do not think I could just be curious again.

Gee I fall within my description as a normal male and lookie I wear female clothing without it being a bet.... So YES WAY!!!!!!!

However, I doubt that a high percentage of men would go through with their curiousity (if they had any)

With you on that one, Mrs R!

PS You can't be "under" circumstances, you have to be "in" them. Circum means "around" and you can't be under something that's around you, you have to be in it. You could be under superstances, but there's no such word. OK, rant over!

    Marcie!

    1) What is "normal"? Your sentence is only true if you define "normal" as "never desiring to wear whatever currently passes as women's clothing in the country you were raised in" which makes the whole thing a tautology anyway.

    2) Where did you get this belief from? Is there some research you read? A TV documentary?

As others have said on this page, what keeps most men from trying on a nice pair of tights or a lovely satin blouse is fear. Fear they'll "turn gay" or lose their job / wife / friends / status. The same fears that kept most of us in the closet for sooo long.

Or were you being ironic, because if so, we need an icon for irony asap please mods!!

No. The vast majority of men would find no joy in cross dressing. Only us few, unique, men are cross dresser material. We are wired differently

Hmmm. I'm with those who think that most 'average' men wouldn't crossdress. Even to experiment. It's just not something that's built into most men, they way it is with us. Some men might have some traits that could be considered feminine, such as being more sensitive and less 'macho' than the norm, but to actually pull on a frilly or lacy pair of panties? Slip on a slinky cocktail dress, pantyhose and heels? Put on makeup, a wig? Nope, ain't gonna happen.

Good explanation, Jennifer. That's exactly it. "Wired differently" is how I see myself and most others like me.

I agree with the original poster when they say,

"I think most men would consent to putting on a panty, and maybe a bra or more, if they knew they were going to get lucky, if you know what I mean, as a result. I think they would be even more motivated if they knew for an absolute certainty that no one else would ever, ever find out."

The keys here are there is something in it for them (getting laid) and nobody will ever find out (besides their partner.) Most if not all men in that situation would bite the bullet and do it. I've done stranger things to get laid, true story. But they would probably not keep going back to the panty drawer for more on their own. They wouldn't have the same drive to try it on their own that we have. And while dressed, they wouldn't feel whatever indescribable feeling we feel when dressed up. So it'd be more a means to an end than an introduction. Although I suspect that there are a minority out there that might feel their TG mojo begin to stir after an experience like that. We all start somewhere! Still I expect that be the exception and not the rule.

Unless they're homophobic, the AVERAGE, (not "normal"), guy would wear ladies things for a prank or a lark! And, get NOTHING from the experience!

I dressed for a big Halloween party many years before I began dressing. My ex and I changed genders. We got drunk, someone popped one of my boobs, made the contest finals, had a great time, and promptly forgot all about it the next day!

It wasn't until YEARS after I began dressing that I even remembered I did that! It was a complete NON-EVENT at that time in my life. I may as well have gone dressed as Barney! And, I'm pretty sure that's what the average Joe would experience, too!

    NOTHING except "wearing a COSTUME"!

I agree with Stephie. People will really push the limits if the motivation is right. Most GMs I know would not only wear a bra and panties, but they would also bungee jump off a bridge in them if it involved a guarantee of getting lucky.

However, without the proper motivation most GM's wouldn't dare try cross dressing. Being a woman is tough even if it is simply donning her clothes and makeup for a little bit. I agree with Sherry most of those that would do it would do it for just a lark. Unfortunately, society's morays concerning gender are just to strict for most men to act on simple curiosity especially if others are around. Which brings us to the age old question "If a guy puts on panties in a forest and no one is around to see did he really cross dress?"

I completely disagree with the premise.

Most men don't give a thought beyond matching their jeans or khakis to a particular shirt, if it matches at all. While they may like the end result, they find the time and effort that women put into their appearance to be a foreign concept. And why would anyone need more than 2 or 3 pair of shoes?

I've pointed this out before, look at a male in the media (could be any profession but in the public eye). He is usually well put together, likely to be handsome as heck, and would not be in the least bit likely to have a desire to wear a dress. Granted a very small percentage of these men may in fact have something TG going on outside of the public eye, most men are not only content being men, they are oblivious to it, just like most women are oblivious to being women. This is because they are who they are, men & women who give no second thought, let alone question, to their gender.

Maybe all men really are secret Crossdressers. They just have not been caught yet. Plus they know that if all men came out and cross dressed, male clothing would become unnecessary, so a lot of people in the textile industry as well as those who work in jobs related to the male clothing industry would lose their jobs. This would be the final domino that pushes the already struggling economic crisis to the breaking point and result in the ultimate collapse of world trade, like a row of dominos.

It would spread around the world like a devastating tsunami creating a wasteland of poverty, populated by huge numbers of starving male zombies, wandering around aimlessly in tattered Victoria’s Secret discards that they picked up at Goodwill for pennies on the dollar. They would naturally gravitate to the tent cities of the Occupy Wall Street chapters, in search of food and shelter. Since there are not adequate sanitation measures in place and few, if any portable toilets available, personal hygiene issues would become a major problem. This would create a giant Petri Dish for bacterial growth. This would lead to widespread disease, creating worldwide epidemics that systematically destroy mass populations… culminating in the extinction of the human race.

Therefore, most men refrain from crossdressing or deny those urges, in order to form a unified humanitarian effort to protect and/or save mankind from complete annihilation.

Another option might be that most males simply do have any interest or feel any compulsion to wear women’s clothing, unless somebody pays them a lot of money to do so. This optional explanation would of course, represent the most logical scenario.

    Just my thoughts…

Great post Steffi! I think this question would need a poll somewhere. If I asked my guy friends it would sure raise eyebrows.lol.

I tend to agree they would do it only to get sex from a GG too. I think they have more fun taking the clothes off their women. I like that part too, but I would like to put them on myself later on after taking them off her.

I think that most 'macho' men would gladly wear panties........................................... .....On their heads!
I've waited so long for this time. Makeup is so frustrating. Shaking hands and I look so old. This was a mistake.
My new maid's outfit is cute. Sure fits tight.
And then I step into the bedroom and in the mirror, I see a beautiful woman looking back at me.

Too true. I think I would get incredulous, gaping, slack-jawed responses from mine, too!

but I would like to put them on myself later on after taking them off her.
Yeah....that would be problematic wouldn't it? Sneaking into the bathroom to try them on....and later hearing, "hey what are you doing in there for so long? Have you seen my bra and panties? I can't find my dress, either!" LoL!

Exactly. I think it was around Hallowe'en there was a thread similar to this, and the consensus was that on that night of nights, there would be "average" guys that would put on women's clothing, but not authentically, and would make a caricature out of the whole thing, so there would be no mistaking that here was a GUY! Just dressed up!
