we all talk about Las Vegas, but what about Atlantic City?

We know Las Vegas has many places for us girls to enjoy. But what about Atlantic City NJ. Aare the people there as friendly and welcoming to us than Vegas? You would assume yes since many of the hotels are owned by the same management firms but no one ever talks about it? Any input?

I don't know how trans friendly they are, but it is a rougher town. A relative of mine who is a pretty laid back guy and has seen about everything in life went there for the first time a few years ago. He stayed at the Trump property down there. About halfway through his day there he decided to drive home because the area was so seedy and dangerous, and he is the kind of guy who doesn't let anything phase him.

In a nutshell this was the exact experience I had in Atlantic City.

AC has the Miss'd America drag pageant. http://www.atlanticcitynj.com/missd-america.aspx
Some of my friends have gone, but I never did.....but I hear it's a hoot!
Other than the hotels, it's kind of a rough, and run-down town. If you want to walk around and go en femme, then NY and Philly, and the suburbs will do just fine.
If you like gambling & entertainment, and going en femme, then Mohican Sun or Foxwoods will be really good....though it's in Connecticut.

I visit AC alot , was just there last night and won some $$$ not much. I have been there in girly jeans and sandles and polished toes with no ill effects. AC is getting alot better . I hear Resorts has a TG friendly nightclub that is getting very popular The marina district Harrahs/Borgata/GN is probably less of a danger for the crossdresser but people have stereotyped AC , it has come a long way in the past 10 or so years and isn't as bad as people make it to be

I've done both en femme, and I have to agree that there's no comparison: Atlantic City does have its charms (I treated myself to a rolling chair ride on the Boardwalk) but Vegas is the adult entertainment center of the universe, and I felt much safer there than in "Newark with sand"

Glad somebody knows the town better than I do.
I'm at the extreme opposite end of the state. We got bears where I live.

I really like Atlantic City because alot of the time you aren't bothered by young children due to the fact that the city is a bit dark and dangerous even during the day in certain sections.
When my GF and I go we stay at the Borgata because it's away from the boardwalk and it's a nice property.

I've been in Vegas many times and prefer staying downtown at the Fremont because it's away from families trolling up and down the strip like their at an amusement park.

Usually when I was in Vegas I was hanging out in a dark bar somewhere talking with friends about firearms.

The sex was good in Vegas I have to give it that.

Resorts caters to the LGBT community. It has the first gay club in the casinos. Ive been to PRO BAR many times when I lived in Brigantine and worked in the city. If you go to the casinos youre okay but if your in resorts its the LGBT center of AC.

No offense East Coasters, because I feel the SAME WAY about LA! I have NO DESIRE to visit your areas!

What I DO wonder is, how gay/trans friendly the casino towns in Oz r? Like the Broad Beach/Surfers area in Queensland? I go THERE more often anyway!
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Hi Karrie, It's like comparing apples to oranges Once you've been to LV -- AC just don't cut it.

I can explain it to you, But I can't comprehend it for you !

Been to Mohegan Sun. Fun!....not really a challenge.
I don't think the patrons or staff really care. The hotel just wants your money.

The best thing about AC is that there is an airport and you can fly to Vegas from there

Drove 2 blocks away from the trump towers and gangsters on the street corners started walking towards my car... gotta admit, I didn't wait for the lights to turn green.

The first time I went to Atlantic City, I was shocked when I got away from the casino area. The area was so seedy and run down, I didn't really want to explore much of the city.

Atlantic City is a failed urban renewal program...

It is a dangerous and sad place...

I have been there 100's of times over the years and saw its rise, its fall, its attempted rise and it has now almost completely fallen...

I would say that if you want to go..the inside of some casinos are very nice...the Borgata has a "scene" that is a bit like Jersey Shore...and the Trop has extensive food and shopping...kind of an inner mall that is like a mini vegas....

There is no better or worse treatement of tg people there than anywhere else...certainly as hotel/casinos the policy is friendliness, and it ends up being about who you run into...
