I work at this thrift store lucky me the owner knows I'm a transvestite. So I get close for free AND I get to them before other do. But guess what I'm to big and to tall! ! ! So all the nicest thing don't fit but I have a few nice things. Now Dig this lady's I'm to tall for my skirts I like LONG ones. And I want this one but it's size 18 and I am like a size 22 with stretchy waist (girls real best friend) so more like 22-24. And it's so nice ! And I want to altar it and can't no skill for it! So I'm screaming why can't I be a skinny b****! And soo tall I mean it's good for Steve not for Pep...

    Hi Pepper!

You didn't say how tall you are, but I do know GG's who are in the range of 6'2". It can be quite an attention getter! So one option is to play it big like some tall GG's do and wear brighter colors and the like.

They do make tall and even ultra-tall fashions, but since you are getting your clothes for free you may not be in a position to be too choosy.

One possibility is to take the dress home, hang it in a prominent place like in your bathroom, or in front of your refrigerator, or somewhere where you will see it often and use it for encouragement to lose weight (if that is an issue for you).

The alternative is that sometimes you have to let stuff go, even though you know you will regret it for a while. I had that happen today. I was out shopping and came across a fantastic pair of shoes, perfect with some of my outfits, and on a huge sale (1/3 of their original sales price) and they sorta fit although my toes were too long. The shoes needed to be 1/2 size larger, maybe a whole size larger, but the shop just didn't have them. I even tried a second one of that chain's shops and again, no go. Had to put 'em down and walk away.

Ah well, sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug.

    Hugs,
    Persephone.

I am 6-2 and am more passable in 3 inch heels than I am in flats simply because of how I move around in heels vs how I move around in flats. Not to mention I know several ggs who are of equal height to me and larger in the waist than I am. It is all how you carry yourself. Tall girls do get noticed, but if all your body language presents itself as being nothing out of the ordinary people won't bat at eye at your height.
I was told a few times from GGs that once they start having to look up at someone they all just seem tall and they don't take too much notice about how much height difference it is. Taller men are more likely to notice as they are not as used to having women as tall or taller, but unless they have been living under a rock it isn't something they have never run into.

Cant help you with the height. I'm 6'2"...but I make do. However, you could start working on weight loss. It has benefits way beyond the clothes you can wear. And its possible. I've dropped from 270 to 220 over a period of years - and my blood pressure and knees are grateful. Plust things fit so much better!

I know exactly how you feel. I am 6'5" and can wear a size 18 but seems everything I really like stops at 14. When I find pants that fit wonderful and they are inches too short... grrr.

I'm six foot even. I weigh 195-200 pounds. In dress sizes I wear an 18, 1X or 2X depending on cut and length. Yes, it is difficult to find floor length dresses unless you shop at a website or store for tall women. As to a thrift store, you're stuck with the garments women donate. Altering skirts may be a viable option by adding a fringe on the bottom hem that will complement the basic color. Also, you may be able to locate a seamstress who would make skirts for you with the fabric of your choosing. There are websites, such as Joann's, where you can purchase yardage on line. Not every locale has a fabric store down the block.

    Sorry, dear.

This is the wrong forum to try and play the "I'm too tall" card. It just won't fly around here.

Plenty of girls are 6 feet and over. Some of then even wear high heels at that height. Besides, you can do absolutely NOTHING about your height. You're stuck with that. Now your weight? That you can fix. So call Jenny Craig and do something positive about your looks.

I am 6'1", 220lbs and I have seen attractive girls taller and bigger than me. I was bouncing at a bar a long time ago and this tall redhead walked into the club. I was instantly in love, she was at least 6'3", had gorgous long Nicole Kidman red hair, and a rocking body. She looked like a normal hot girl, she was just big. Since then I have seen plenty of tall, big girls. I saw a girl at the casino and she was probably 6'2" without heels and she was rocking some 5" heels I was in normal boots and looked up at her. So when I put on 2-3" heels and go out I never even think of my height.

...stepping in front of both barrels...

I'm 6'4 so don't give us any lip about "too tall". Ok...now the barrels part...

when I transitioned, I was 6'1 and at my low 115 pounds but usually around 125-130. Y'all have any idea what its like trying to find a size 6-8 in an ultra-tall? I could get short sleeve stuff off the rack and I would wear petites knee-length skirts/dresses and tunics as miniskirts/ dresses. Long sleeve?...yeah right. I had to have them tailored.

    too tall....hrumph!

Hi Pepper! I think I know how you feel! But now wait! Could I be too short! Last weekend I danced with a gg that was TALL! With my cowgirl hat on I didn't even reach her chin! Gosh she was pretty! Hugs

I was going to post this as a new topic, then noticed that there were a bunch of tall girls all gathered in one place. So hopefully, one of you can help me!

I am just researching the info to get into cross dressing. I am particularly stumped with breast size, a question I am sure comes up frequently around here.

    I am 6'4, 170 lbs (distance runner/basketball player) with a 38 inch chest.

I read some stuff, seemed to suggest that C was a good, conservative cup size to start with. But, I got a C bra, stuffed it a bit to simulate, and it just seems like I am way too big for that, given that I am 6'4 and broad shouldered, etc. So now I am considering targeting larger breasts. But, how big do I go?? I don't really want to be outrageous, but I need something proportional to my height and build.

Also, I am a bit worried about finding tops to fit me. Not too many women's clothing made for bodies over six feet tall.

    Thanks for any insight!

rigged Bob - get used to the "C's" first, then got up from there. As to where to buy clothes, various tall-girl shops abound on the web but for web or in-person shopping try JC Penny's for their ultra-talls

Yes, tall girl clothes are hard to come by. But they're out there. Read the comments on articles of clothes on amazon; every once in a while you'll come across one that says the sizes are way too big, that's your signal to send for it and try it. I got a couple nice dresses that way. Skirts, too, but then, I like them a little shorter than you do (so a below the knee skirt for me winds up being an above the knee skirt).
Shoes, search the Pleaser brand. They're on Amazon as well as at Pierre Silber (CD clothier), and some styles go up to 16 (which is the men's size I wear, and some of their size 16 shoes fit me quite comfortably).
If you can afford it, there are ebay vendors from China that make 'cosplay' outfits in custom sizes, some real pretty ones for less than $100. The material is usually all cotton for most of them, though, so be careful to wash in cold water and iron carefully to avoid shrinking them (I have a few gothic lolita dresses that I got from those vendors; it takes about 4 to 7 weeks to get the dress after giving them your measurements for them to make it;, and, when you measure, be 'generous', and add a little extra. They make those dresses snug, just like you will see in the pictures. Womens' clothing is like that, not nice and loose like mens. Those dresses are 'form fitting'). If you like 'schoolgirl' outfits, those skirts are at sexyschoolgirlskirts.com. You can pick up the plain button down tops sometimes at Roamans, Jessica London, etc., just keep watch on the women's clothing catalogs. It all fits me, and I'm six four (when I wake up, anyway, but tend to 'settle' a bit during the day).

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

I'm 6'4" and 220 pounds. Trying to get down to 205 and lose the gut. I usually wear a size 18 but could probably do 16. Anything above 2" heels would be tough for me.
