Tell me about your local group.

I'm sure most of you are getting tired of hearing me talk about mine. So please tell me about yours. What's it called, is there a web site, how do you join, how many members and what do you do?

I think it would be great to create a thread that anyone, especially new members, can reference when looking for a group near them. I know there is a forum for kind of this thing, but here is no single point of reference, so lets make one.

    My local group:

DFE is a web based group inside meetup.com, currently around 250 members, with several activities every week. Goto meetup.com and search for dallas feminine expression to join.

Great idea! Here are some links of the local area that I am involved with!

Colorado Springs Colorado area Transgender support organizations.

Co. Springs Pride center - http://cospride.org/index.php/en/

Peak Area Gender Expression group (PAGE) - http://www.cospride.org/index.php/en...a-g-e-tg-group

Family for Transgender support group –

The Gender Identity Center is located in Denver but several of us attend when possible.

    Our local meetup group is

    http://www.meetup.com/Mile-High-Transgendered/

Tri-Ess local chapter is the Rocky Mountain TSK

    http://www.rmtsk.org/

There are more organizations locally but this is a start. I am involved in all of them to some extent all though the GIC and TSK is just as an occasional participant.

    Hope this helps!

You are lucky, I have no groups with-in 60 miles of me, and the ones in Chicago,
    some meet in unfriendly neighborhoods.

Alas, I suspect it will be an unsual experience for me to ever even meet someone else that is transgender like me. I seriously expect my town to not know what to do with me.

Why would anybody hold meetings in unfriendly places? Unfriendly to who?
