I bite too lol I also started as a lurker due to denial but I am glad I decided to join
Flip Flops were made for Beaches & Bath Houses, We have neither in 2017. Lose the flip flops!
You know Marleena, It would be nice to have an influx of new members posting all the time instead of just us lot. You must be getting fed up with Suzy. I know I am!
It took me 4 years to get up the nerve !

We do have something in common. Karren pointed me to this site originally. We met due to her asking the question on how to manage wig lines on the forehead.
Second star to the right and straight on till morning
OK, you caught one.
I signed up now. I posted a hello thread too!
Some (half? many?) of the "visitors" here and on any other site are web crawlers .. the search bots that crawl the web indexing sites for search engines. The larger the site, the more visitors it gets, the more search bots will keep up with all the changes.

I lurked for months before I joined, joining has been one of the best decisions that I have ever made.

A lot of times I read posts from my smartphone at work. I don't bother logging in since I am not going to post anything and just want to read a few things while on a break.

apparently you didn't see the squirrel in the last post. But I didn't know what to expect when I joined here but it has been a lot of fun and interesting.
It took me a couple of weeks before I decided that joining would be a good idea.
Mostly I just wanted to make sure that it was a legitimate resource and not a front for a porn/hook-up service.
Glad I found this place!
Don't worry lurkers...............we'll set you on the straight and narrow path

Yeah, I lurked for a long time myself, before working up the guts to join!! Now I am a happy closet cd!!!
Another interesting tidbit is, if you look at "Who's Online" under Quick Links above, there is a listing of everyone who is currently logged in. But after this are pages and pages of "guests". If you click on the links they are currently reading, you'll see that many are in the archives, as old as 2005. Seems to me if someone is lurking because they're not sure if they should join or they're looking someone up whom they suspect are members here, they'd tend to look more at current Index pages and threads, and not stuff that is up to seven years old.
I've no idea if this is some sort of glitch, or even what type of glitch it might be. But I suspect that the number of human, real time people who are lurking here for whatever reason, are much fewer than we think, especially if you also subtract from the "visitors", the web crawler programs and the registered members who are looking at the site quickly on their smart phones without logging in.

Uh, nope. Both firefox and chrome both are default set up to allow third party cookies, and they can track where you go. Then one day surprise, surprise, you'll get spam offering you transvestite clothing in your email, or a new pair of pumps when you go shopping at amazon. Take it one further, Microsoft's browser hides your history in other places than where you will expect. If for any reason law enforcement should find reason to suspect you of a crime and they get into your computer, there will be tracks left telling where you've been. Consider also, the parts where it offeres to fill in forms as you type, remember user names and passwords, etc.. It all get saved somewhere on your computer, if not also in 'the cloud'. Want to see who's tracking you? Try installing Ghostery. You'll get a little purple box in the upper right hand corner of each new web page you visit, and it will tell you who's tracking you. #1? Google. Google tracks a whole lot of things. Don't ever take your privacy for granted. Remember, Inquiring minds want to know (people simply love gossip)!
I had to sign off to check; sure enough 'Google analytics' tracks you when you leave here.

Some causes of crossdressing you've probably never even considered: My TG biography at:http://www.crossdressers.com/forums/...=1#post1490560
There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.
Hi Marleena, I too was a long time visitor before signing up.
