    crossdressing and injuries

Right now I am feeling BUMMED out. with Fall aproaching the pink fog falls heavly on me and I become more of a girl than in the summer. I broke my hand the other day in a temporary splint and a cast in in the cards, I see a hand specialist on Friday. I am sad, I don't even want to put on mascrea cause it will run if I cry. I had great plans too, 2 make Denise more like a girl, waxing of my legs, new wig pedicure full body shave I want it all . I want to get out to meet other CD and have fun as Denise Talk about a party pooper , any words of advise to cheer me up wil be appreciated, maybe a pink water proof cast will help. I am sad I don't even want to go get pedicures anymore.

Sorry about the broken hand, but those things happen! You do have very pretty toes though, look pretty much just like mine!! And you do need to keep on getting pedicures!! Those toes need to always look nice!!

Hang in there Denise!! You will be healed before you know it. I know it is a bummer to have plans and then something happens to make you postpone them. Use the time to read Cosmo or some other magazines to get some ideas on different styles and the latest trends in makeup. They are always coming out with new products, I can never keep up with the next hot items! Use your time to be more prepared for when you are ready to go out, as you know the mental part is as important as the physical. Maybe do a little meditating to connect with your inner girl and spend some time practicing a more girly voice. There are still girly things you can do. Hope you are feeling better and hope you get well really really soon! Hugs Riki

Sorry to hear about your hand, hope it heals up quick!! Even women have their ups and downs, I wouldn't let it get you down, go get that pedicure and get some new clothes to boost your spirit.

Just be a girl trooper Denise and you will be okay. Sometimes we just have to grin and bear these inconveniences.

I am sorry you broke your hand but don't let it get you down! Of all the things you want to do this fall, I saw nothing on your list that having a cast will hinder. It may not be the way you want it, but accidents happen to both men and woman. I am sure after the initial shock wears off you will once again look forward to a great Autumn season!

I have a scar across my left foot from stumbling in some high heels and the heel dragged across it
I love that scar because it reminds me of those heels.

Sorry to hear about your hand. Get better soon then show off to the world

Oh Denise I am so sorry to hear about your hand. That can be so painful and just down right inconvenient to top it off. If you have to have a cast don't they have pink plaster or maybe you can cover it with a pink sock or something. I am with Danni though, I think you can still do what you want to do and after all going out to have a manicure, pedicure and shopping is always the best medicine for a girl when she is depressed and it is something I highly recommend. Put your big girl panties on and go out there anyway. Hugs!!

Please do not let the cast ruin your plans, unless you planned on doing a lot of heavy work with that hand. Just get dressed and put on makeup as you would have with no broken bones. Go out that door and enjoy life as it was meant to be enjoyed. Actually, a cast is like going someplace with a baby or a puppy. Everyone will be interested to know what happened and how. You will meet a lot of new and fun people, and you can make up a different injury story each time you go out. Just imagine all the fun you can have with that!! Real women don't let little things like that bother them, so "woman up" and get out of the house just as you planned. No excuses accepted.

Seven years ago i broke my right femur combined with some slightly more minor injuries. I was unable to move much for a few weeks, when i could get about i was on crutches for over 3 months, then i walked with a pronounced limp for at least a year after that.
During that time i was unable to do any kind of dressing at all, all my stuff was kept in the loft. I was worried about trying to walk in heels again, and i was very very careful on that occasion. But i was ok.
My point is that you will bounce back soon enough. Keep smiling and dress as much as you are able. As soon as you're fully recovered you'll enjoy dressing even more than before.

focus on the positive, be thankful you only broke your hand. it will heal. In my line of work I see catastrophic life altering injury, and with people half your age. trust me count your blessings.

When they are ready to cast it, just ask for the PINK cast material!

Women break bones on occasion too and they manage to still look and behave as women. It's temporary.

Denise, I agree with Sissystephanie. You have very pretty toes and I hope that you have them on display 24/7/365 in women's open toe sandals because they are too pretty to be hidden in closed-toe shoes. Whenever I'm not at work, my toes on on display in fem sandals in my normal feminine male-mode.

    Hi Denise,
Sorry about the hand. Any major injury sucks. ......get well soon!

This topic hits home for me in a big way. I was in a similar situation with a brokenm wrist. Just to preface this post, i will say that I tired to hide and suppress the fact that I was a crossdresser for several years until the stock market crash of '08....a.k.a. Black Friday. The classic denial & shame kicked in, and i purged everything.

That was when my company was faltering, and they laid off a bunch of people, while the rest of us, including me, took pay cuts. I was already suffering from mounting financial debt on top of it. I needed a way to medicate myself.

I gave up crossdressing , something that I was doing since age 6 or 7, in 1999 in order to man up, and get going with life. The reality is it never went away .

I was into playing in a rock band until the near fateful day that I was trying to saw off a tree limb with a pole pruner while on the roof of my back porch , and i stepped off and landed hands down on my concrete patio....breaking my left wrist. I had what is known as a Collier's Fracture......land palms down on a 12 ft. drop onto concrete, and figure it yourselves. I had a steel plate and 5 screws put in my wrist. It ended my musical career for several months, and i still do therapy.

Music , besides arts & illustration, is me. Now I have difficulty playing guitar.....something I have always done. it took more than a year to recover. But during all this time, I went back to my old ways, and started crossdressing again, and I felt anew. So anew. It felt great. Now I feel no shame, I've met lots of people like myself ( including bone-breakers like me) , and I am enjoying life to the fullest in my girl mode. I can play guitar, but not at the dexterity I once had. There's now some tendonitis .

When bad things happen, that is when you most need a pick me up. Keep your plans and incorporate the cast as your personal accessory!

Sorry to hear about the fracture. The usual treatment is a cast while the bone sets and heals and physiotherapy to regain lost muscle strenght afterward.

    What did the specialist say?
