Thanks

I signed into this site less than two weeks ago and so far I have to say that everyone here is so loving and kind. I feel very comfortable here and I've already noticed a certain peace in talking about my femme side that I've never experienced before. Actually, because I've held so much back for so long, I tried to constrain myself somewhat so I don't come across too desperate. :-)

I've also sampled as many of the topics as time allows and I noticed that everyone here seems so very open about their their feelings and their needs for connecting with others. I really do understand that.

I contemplated joining a site like this for many years but my inhibitions held me back. I'm now so glad that I took the plunge. Thank you all for being so caring and understanding. I wish I had more of that in my day-to-day life.

It's funny, but when I signed on, my guts were turning. So glad I did as well. There is plenty of crap here too, but there are also nuggets... Welcome

I think for me, joining a site like this was kind of a milestone moment. Kind of like the first time buying female clothes. I actually had the thought: "If you go through with this, there's no going back. You are "officially" a crossdresser when you buy women's clothes for yourself. And then, your even more of a crossdresser when you join a forum. That's probably just my goofy thinking. I guess it's better to be an "official" crossdresser. After all, who wants to be "Unofficial"?

After all that, It's good to have you around!

Valerie,
This the best site on the net for our community. You hit the nail on the head. Everyone here really cares for one another. We occasionally get into a little spat here or there, but even the best of friends, can have a heated debate and still be friends.
We are all in the same world, trying to find a safe niche to be ourselves and grow. Crossdressers.com helps us find ourselves.

It's a great site for me as well. Even if there are gaps between "dressing up", I can stay mentally involved by coming here on a regular basis. For me that's a good thing! One of my favorite things about this site is reading posts from GG's and understanding their point of view when it comes to CDing. I am hopeful that someday my SO will reach a level of acceptance that is remotely close to that of some of the women that post here.

Absolutely. The kind of place you can kick off your shoes, let your hair down (or take it off!), and drink beer from the bottle. Mention anything and get 50 responses. We all disagree at one point or another, but we will take care of our own.

It is wonderful to have access to others like us so we do not feel so alone. Imagine what it was like before the internet...shudder.....

I don't have to imagine... It sucked. Wish I had these resources 40 years ago.

As a GG I was very unsure about joining this site. I thought it may be awkard esp. since my husband is not a member here. But everyone has been very kind and helpful. Before I found this site, just googling and looking around I found some....not so nice places that I assume are aimed more at fantasy and fetish kind of stuff that made me nervous to join any kind of furom but I am sure glad I gave this place a chance.

I am so glad you said this. I'm trying to get my GG friend (ex also) to join and the way they moderate here appeals to me because it makes it a safe place to hang out.

Regarding the original post... me too.

Thanks for the "Thanks" Valerie. I'm sure just about everyone here feels the same way. We try to be encouraging and loving, hopefully, without too much male bragging getting in the way! BTW, your avatar picture is gorgeous.

It is wonderful to talk to others like yourself and realize you are not alone. Just to talk about fitting clothes and makeup with another girl makes me feel better. It was with the encouragement of people in CD forums that I went out and found a support group and now have some trans friends in my town and home area. The freedom to be who we are is amazing and liberating.

I'm so glad you find these forums so valuable, because I do, too. There are so many of us that need reassurance that it's okay to be who they are and dress like they do, and it's okay to talk about it with other like-minded people, even about subjects you'd never touch in your male life. Heck, it's even okay to take pictures of yourself, post them, and show off a bit! And, of course, to also look at the pictures other people post and chime in with comments like "Ooh, pretty dress!" or "I love those shoes!" or "Girlfriend, you look fabulous!"

This is a safe place where we can all be women together, and, as a result, there's a very strong sense of community here. I am just as privileged as you to be part of it.

My sentiments exactly Valerie! I too joined recently. Everytime I looked for someplace like this I returned results of porn and dating. Everyone here is so nice, helpful and genuine. I acctualy came across this site about a month before I joined and just veiwed it several times. After seeing all the posts and their responses I knew I had to become a part of this.

Even for myself I am not one to trust many thing but every time I would type crossdress I would get pics of crossdressers with everything hanging out, and one day I stumbled into this site and reading some stories on there forum really related to my everyday and for the first time I joined a website and for the first time in my life I spoke as Maria and it was great. I found out that we all dress for different reasons but we live the same struggles that make us the same. This site completed me and made me a better person and when I have to vent I vent here and someone is always here to help, I consider everyone here my friend and I hope you could feel the same way.

I watched this site for years, reading the MtoF section without being a member. Then last fall I decided, just do it. I've been going out in public dressed form more than 25 years, so I don't know whay it took me so long, but I too and very glad to have joined. This is a wonderful community.

Valerie,
All of us here have a certain amount of desperation in or lives so you can let abit of constraint out now and then and no one will notice.
We do care about others here.
Work on your elegance,
and beauty will follow.
