We're not freaks, and I'm impressed

I have to say that after a few weeks of perusing the kind of posting here and ultimately joining in, I'm happy and impressed at how classy the general tone is here. If I look up crossdressing in a search, I usually get all the horny, sexually charged stuff that many associate with what we do.

To find a class of people that love to dress up like me, feel feminine, without being made out to seem like a freak or that I'm participating in some weird internet orgy is refreshing.

I won't lie, for me to wear women's clothing is sexually stimulating as well as relaxing and many other things I can't necessarily articulate. Having said that, I am encouraged by the maturity level and dedication and support this community seems to hold for each other.

I can say, that so far, I'd have no reason not to have friends and family come here some day to read our discussions and see what we struggle with and enjoy and how we are normal everyday people, hopefully dispelling some of the perceptions those who don't understand what we do.

That is encouraging. Cheers to all my TGirl sisters.

    Kalista

    I'm a TGirl, yes it's true! I'm a TGirl, through and through.
I love nylons and high heels, mini-skirts and shopping deals!
I don't care what others say, life's too short, it's time to play.
    I'm a TGirl, yes it's true! I'm a TGirl, how 'bout you?

Hi Kalista, I was so glad I found this site over a year ago. You're right its too bad that there's so much internet porn associated with what we do.

Cheers to you. Have a good day

Karren: Hi. What is "ASL"? (I suspect when you tell, it'll be a forehead slapping "of course" moment for me.)

    Thanks,

I couldn't agree more Kalista. I am constantly impressed at how mature, thoughtful, and respectful everyone here is towards each other. I won't quite say that I'm not a freak though.

And, I'm feeling stupid as well, what is ASL Karren?

    Kalista:

I'll dare to say that many of us are here to escape the vulgar and crude aspects of the Internet and the treatment it give T-girls. The civility of the conversations, the friendliness of the ladies and gentlemen who read and post here is always refreshing.

BTW, getting a "charge" out of your own dressing is something many of us have experienced at some point in our CD/TG/TS career. I look back and realize that for me, it coincided with that period of my life when the testosterone was peaking and my sexual energy was strongest. Now, dressing is a way to complete me. I feel a calmness that is enticing, I tend to view the world less harshly, and I thoroughly enjoy "feeling" womanly as I go about my business. I really wish I were retired and could indulge myself more of the time. I'm passable enough that I can go out and about in many settings w/o drawing undue attention to myself. Blending and passing, and being treated like a women (even if they suspect I'm not) makes me feel complete and at ease with the world and myself. I love it.

    Best regards,
    Rhonda

ASL is chatspeak for Age, Sex, Location - it's typical of the more pervy responses from people.

I for one am glad I'm here - it makes me feel normal, that what I do is somewhat normal (although against the grain of conventional society). The maturity and experience that this forum has offered thus far is exemplary, a true community without the crudity that the other areas of the internet give cross-dressing.

You mirror my feelings exactly Kalista.

Since joining this forum I have looked at other forums but I still only belong to this one. It’s all I need.

And in case I haven’t done so yet, welcome Kalista.

There was a recent thread complaining about the b!tchiness here on the forum. Considering that, and your comment, it must be that the mods have the tone just right.

A man was working in his front yard. A stranger walked up and said, "I just moved here. What kind of people live here?" The man asked "What kind of people are where you're from?" He answered "They're cold and mean, really despicable people." The man replied, "That's the kind of people you'll find here."
A while later another person walked up to the man in his yard and asked the same question, and again the man asked, "What kind of people are where you're from?"
"Oh, they're warm and friendly, really beautiful people." The man replied, "That's the kind of people you'll find here."

We do try Nicole, we keep the crap away so you can't see it and believe me, there is quite a bit sometimes but most of the time, the forum pretty much runs well, I think we've got it running great now and that's thanks to our members and staff

Right on, Kalista and welcome to the forum.

I too commend the moderators for keeping the forums to their original mission. This site and the members are my resource to understanding me. Though the threads are sometimes repetitive I realize that we get new members all the time and they need to ask some of the same questions. The members are always so welcoming and understanding. It's like we are all in this together and yet it is comforting to know that this community exists and apparently the only one of its kind. If one wants porn then there are literally millions of those sites.

    OMG, Nicole!

That is awesome that you said that. I say the same thing, only in a different variation all the time to co-workers and friends. My version goes like this:

One day a gasoline attendant working in between to towns, North Town and South Town, was going about his day when a U-Haul truck came driving in. A man stepped out and asked the gas attendant, "Hey, man, my wife and I are moving out of North Town and down into South Town. What can you tell me about the people there?"

The gas attendant stroked his beard and instead asked the man what the people were like up in North Town.

The man almost couldn't wait to rant. "North Town? Bunch of judgmental, self-centered, good for nothings. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of there."

The gas attendant sighed. "Sorry to burst your bubble, but, I'm afraid the people down in South Town are exactly the same."

"Ah, hell. Great." The man grumbled as he filled up the truck and sped out back onto the road, leaving the gas attendant behind.

An hour later, the gas attendant looked up to see another U-Haul pulling in his station. A man stepped out, gave a wave and a smile to the attendant.

"Heya buddy!" The man said casually. "My wife and I are having to relocate from North Town to South Town. I just got a promotion at work and they need me closer. Do you know much about the people that live there?"

The gas attendant smiled to himself. "Well, first, tell me what folks were like up in North Town."

The man sighed. "Hated to leave, and wouldn't if I didn't have too. Real good, caring folks up there. Gonna miss my neighbors a lot."

The gas attendant reasurred him, "Sir, you have no worries, the folks in South Town are just like those in North Town. You and your family are going to love it there."

The man thanked the gas attendant and started telling his wife the good news as they drove off.

Same towns, different outcomes. =) I always liked that story and try to be like the second man (or TGirl).

Long winded, but I like stories.

    Cheers,

    Kalista

I keep reading that here so I actually tried it and got none of that. This forum was on page 2. Most CD forums I've come across are even more prudish than this one - not that I care. Porn doesn't offend me, it bores me to tears.

Before I came here I saw that other sites were pretty much full of porn and nastiness so I almost gave up looking for answers.
Found this place and never left.It is by far the best site on the web dealing with this subject.
Friendly and understanding folks from all over the world dealing with the same thing.
I for one am proud to be here and the mods do a wonderful job IMO.

It's the moderators fault they have this dirty big lid they put on things....
I think it is a credit to them. I think this is a classy site, and I think it can proudly hold it's name up high.

This site or the people on this site are good examples of decent people, who just happen to be cross dressers. Yep, if an SO Googles cross dressing, they're going to find too much porn on the Internet. Their perceived misconceptions of cross dressing will be validated. Here, there are examples of acceptance and rejection. There are examples of struggles. And, of course there is the lighter side shown in just plain old 'girl talk.'

I have found links to other sites which display tasteful pictures of many beautiful cross dressers without any hint of porn. But, this is the only site I've found where there is a good mix of information and dialogue. Frankly, this site would show anyone making an inquiry of cross dressing men, that we are normal people.
