How many of you are OUT at work?

How many of you are known to be crossdressors at work? How do your coworkers treat you if they know? What's the reaction from men? How about women? Do you crossdress at work? To what degree do you crossdress?

Have you ever lost a job because they had known? (I have, but now that's illegal, but not 4 years ago.)

If it is ok tell what you do or your position or what the company you work for does.

As for me, I'm a closet crossdressor / never gone out in public / I try it keep it secret. I suppose people have gossiped about me at work, one woman thinks I'm gay / I think someone else has spread rumors about me but so far my work relations aren't bad and I get along well with those I interact with. If your a member you can read my profile for what I do. I never want to be out at work, but if they find out I hope my work relations won't be bad.

It's now illegal to discriminate against gays in ILLINOIS, but it wasn't like that 4 years ago when I lost my last job. But I'm mostly a straight crossdressor.

    Vote on the poll.

They don't know about me yet, but I know they're talking about me because of my nails and all the female jewelry I wear. I don't advertise myself, but if someone asks me what's going on, I'll tell them and let it hit the fan. I don't have to worry about losing my job, but there will be quite a few who will be vicious. I really don't care, I say bring it on, at least I'll find out who my real friends are.

I am self employed and work alone. So my crossdressing is not really an issue with my boss. I do have people coming into my shop quite often, so I have to dress in drab work clothes. I don't think that I could be to comfortable working on cars in a dress anyway.

They don't know. I have said a few things around Halloween. Like I was going to dress as this one girl in the office so that this scheduler wouldn't know who to listen to (when she speaks, he jumps!). Just the other week, one guy asked why I wasn't going to the company Christmas party and I told him because they wouldn't let me go in drag. I don't think he heard me because he rambled on about he thought I was too cheap to go.

My coworkers and boss dont know. But they have noticed some of the more fem things I have started doing in the last year, like shaving my chest and back, painting my fingernails with clear polish and using fragrant body lotions. A few questions about those things but all is well on that level. I will never be able to let them know I wear womens clothing though. Although I wear panties 24/7 and I have worn my thigh highs to work at times.
    I am who I am.

I work for myself so my boss knows everything. He doesn't mind one bit if I come to work dressed. I'm not sure all the clients would understand though.

This is an interesting one. While I have 'come out' to a few people at work, I have made no 'grand public statement' as such. I am out more by my actions than anything else.

A few years back, I did have a meeting with HR where I expressed a desire to follow the women's dress code. We discussed my reasons and such and I was told that they would get back to me. About a week later, I was told that there was no problem, but they wanted to know how I would handle queations and such. Some more discussion and I was given the 'green light'. Ultimately, however, I didn't really avail myself of the opportunity as the idea didn't sit well at home.

Fast forward to now. I'm more or less doing the above - albiet 'unofficially'.

All my trousers (some dressier than others) are women's. I wear mostly jumpers in the winter and when the weather is warmer, polo shirts. I have a few women's button down shirts I'll wear if I have to go to our main office (a bit more uptight there) but it's still not the 'suit & tie' I ought to be wearing.

My shoes are usually low heeled loafers but I do wear heels now and then. Under my desk (in plain sight), I keep a pair of lace up shoes with 2.5" chunky heels as well a a pair of boots with the same type of heels. I also have a couple pairs of pumps in my desk that I'll slip into now and then.

I always wear earrings - usually a pair of 7/8" CZ hoops - as well a some bracelet, a couple of rings and a woman's watch. I also wear a Tiffany's floating heart necklace which never comes off.

The overall look varies from kinda guy to kinda girl, usually leaning more to the
    girl end of things.

Reactions? I think most of the people in my area have gotten used to the 'different' person on the floor. I still get the odd look here and there, but mostly everyone seems pretty indifferent. Most of the looks come from people on other floors who otherwise wouldn't see me on a regular basis - quizical looks from the guys and sometimes a few giggles from the younger girls.

Overall, I get no hassle from anyone.

    Love & Stuff,
    Donna

Well, I went to the Halloween party in drag every year for a decade. I'm guessing they suspect, even if they don't exactly know.

I'm in the same boat as you Maddie. Right now I'm looking for a permanent position so I am keeping a low profile, girl wise.

While I've made no formal announcement at work, I wear women's jeans everyday, nailpolish, and earrings. During the Christmas Hollydays, each of my nails had a Christmas decoration airbrushed on them. The girls in the office were impressed!

i keep a philosophical divide between work and
social aspects of my life. i've been doing contract
work for the past five years. there is less office
"prying" when you are a contract consultant.
clients nor previous boss have met any of my
friends and girlfriends -- i only told one person
at a previous (2-yr) contract that i was getting
married and for him to keep it to himself.
at times. i have had honest talks to explain
    why i decline to socialise w/ co-workers.

i'm definitely can be call a millitant in maintaining the divide.

No one knows and I don't plan on telling anyone.

I do wear foundation and mascara just about every day. I prefer women's trouser socks to men's and I wear panties all the time, though my coworkers don't know that of course.

I am considering getting my ears pierced. Several male coworkers have one ear pierced, but I think doing both is going to raise some questions.

    Love,

    Jenna

there was rumors about me many years ago but I have only been confronted and asked outright by one girl.I told her the truth.
Jenna, I pierced both ears a couple of years ago and when a guy asks me about them, usually in a snide manner,I tell him that I was told that it would stimulate conversations with latent homosexuals and it seems to work.Shuts them up right quick.

I'm not out to anyone at work and don't see anyone in the near future to come out and about regarding Rachel Densie.

I have confided in one person at work. She is lesbian and extremely accepting. She and I have begun to trade tips, etc.

I don;t think I'll ever come 'out' at work, though I do wear some women's clothes there, and have my nails clear coated, and have been working on my eyebrows.

    Nobody at work knows.
And they won't, unless they happen to decide to come in early Sunday morning. I'm at work right now, have been since 5 a.m.
I spent the first three hours dressed. Just got done changing back to drab about twenty minutes ago.
I don't know what the reaction would be, though I have a good feeling what it would be since it's a Christian based company.
And then, I wonder what would bother them more, the crossdressing or the water balloons filling my 42DD ba.

LOL. And if they ask if you are gay, say"Bend over. Let's find out."
