    Support group meeting

We had our pot luck supper tonight and I went in guy mode due to time constraints.
It was odd to say the least only a few recognized me in guy mode until they had their ah ha moment.
I went in guy mode one time before but that was my first time 5 or 6 years ago.
    Still had a great time.

It is an interesting thing about how much of human recognition is based in the clothing that we wear. Seeing people who we would normally see in uniform for example (police or military personnel), is very different from seeing them in casual clothes or dressed up. It should be no surprise as to how this plays out regarding male/female, but as you've noticed, that's exactly what happens.

Human recognition must be different from animal recognition. I have been out en femme and encountered people who know me and well. They did not recognize me. None of them gave any indication at all. On the other hand, when I come home dressed, my two cats, who are afraid of strangers, have never even flinched. This has been true in first time, every time, even when I dress elsewhere and come home en femme. It is obvious that they know exactly who I am. I wonder how that works.

I would assume that part of their recognition includes the sense of smell. Human recognition may include that, but if it isn't distinctive, I suspect it goes unnoticed. An example might be if a woman wore a particular kind of perfume, that fragrance could be associated with her independent of presentation.

Abby I have run into people that know me in guy mode that didn't recognize me in enfemme.
So I suppose its normal being these people have never seen me not enfemme.
Awkward for a few minutes but it all worked out.

Similar experience myself, none of my group recognised me when I met in town whilst en boy. One said I looked bigger but at least none of them recognised me by smell. I might have been insulted if they had.

I agree with the basic premise alluded to earlier in that people don't expect to see you in female attire and vice versa, so you can easily pass them by.

I suppose if I wore a wig I'd be more anonymous but with my own long hair, even tied back, I just look like me and people know who I am. My voice is distinctive also o I'm just me.
    Dressing is not a choice.

    Its a passion.

My own hair is about as long as the wig I normally wear but a different style of course.
I found is fascinating as I was driving home so I thought I would mention it here just to see if anyone else had experienced it.

Sometimes it is just your build and deportment that give you away.

Eye contact, more than a normal glance, will give you away too.

Pretty much what Bev said. I can't dance en homme at the club without being recognized by my moves. Oh well, did I really want to?
Second star to the right and straight on till morning
