I want to go on a trip...

So I have recently left the band I was playing in, and that has freed up over a week of vacation time (I had over 40 hours put in for scheduled gigs). And due to all the hellish overtime that has sprung up the last month with no end in sight, I've decided I want to use that newly freed vacation time and take a trip somewhere. Not only that, I've decided I'd like to spend the majority of said trip en femme. Only one problem... I have no clue where I want to go!!! This is a recent decision, so I haven't gotten any research done, but I was wondering perhaps if anyone knew of any fun places to visit that are also perhaps a bit more tolerant? I think it'll be easier for me to go out dressed in a different state as I know I have no worries about bumping into someone I know, but I still want to find a place where I'll feel comfortable. I had been sort of thinking Las Vegas... I've never been and I think that could be a lot of fun, and I also kind of figured that wouldn't be a bad place for a crossdresser to be. But perhaps I'm wrong? Any advice or thoughts would be much appreciated!

    xoxo Stacy

Vegas is good, but if you don't mind the summer heat and humidity, Orlando is a very good place to visit also. Very friendly and MANY places geared towards the LGBT community.

If you have a passport, then come to northern Europe. Not likely to run into anyone you know and people are pretty non confrontational.

Texas has Austin and Houston that are fairly friendly but probably the best has been mentioned Vegas.

Since I live in the San Francisco area, which is a great option for you, I personally would love to go to New York City. There are so many things to do there and they have nothing to do with crossdressing, except for me do those things en femme. There are museums, theaters, bars, restaurants, tourist sites, like "Ground Zero", that I would be tired just from seeing everything that I wanted to see. Another place to take you femme self on the road would be Washington, D.C. with all their museums and tourist sites. Unfortunately, Spring and Fall are better for use wigged and corseted and padded out ladies to visit when it is a bit cooler and dryer.

Top locations 1 through 10 for tolerance AND things to do: San Francisco

Restaurants and bars, of course. Shopping, naturally. Broadway shows and plays. Giants baseball or Niners football (ok, now in Santa Clara). Wine country just to the north. you can't miss.

Las Vagas is all air conditioned including the indoor swimming pools. You hardly have to go outside to do anything. You should be able to have a great time without your face melting and no one is apt to bother about how you look. Go and have fun. They like your money.

    Stacy,
I say Vegas, San Francisco and Florida Keys.
All a long way from Minnesota though.

My wife and I recently went to New Orleans and I loved it. That was a couple of months ago though. If you're going now the heat would definitely suck.

I want to take a trip to either Portland or Seattle. I've heard that those areas are very accepting and they are beautiful places to visit. It depends on your taste but I'm in love with those places and they won't likely be hot in September.

I have to put in a plug for Orlando, also. We're seriously considering moving there in September. It is pretty hip, very LGBT friendly (Disney has Gay Days)! It has good music, excellent food, I don't think anyone would care if you were en femme and the weather in September is now worse than anywhere else in the South, might even be better that New Orleans which is also a very fine and friendly Southern city. Otherwise there is San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York, all of which are expensive but fabulous to visit and a bit more glamorous than New Orleans and Orlando.

What about a conference. Souhtern COmfort Conference (SCC) or Fantasia. Speaking of Fantasia, what about Provincetown, Mass.
Hi, I'm Steffi and I'm a crossdresser... And I accept and celebrate both sides of me. Or, maybe I'm gender fluid.

Hi Stacy, You can have so much fun in Las Vegas .
Having my ears triple pierced is AWESOME, ~~......

I can explain it to you, But I can't comprehend it for you !

If at first you don't succeed, Then Skydiving isn't for you.

Be careful what you wish for, Once you ring a bell , you just can't Un-Ring it !! !!

I've been living in Orlando for years, but knowing people who work for Disney, Disney does NOT have "Gay Days'.

They have a very broad tolerance policy (I've been going to the AMC theater there all week dressed, even got "missed" today at the concession stand), which includes not making any issues when third party organizers hold "Gay Days".

Gay Days is a week long bacchanal bash for LGBT (focused more on the LG part of it), which takes over half the hotels in the area of the parks. They have private pool partys (18 and up) and it goes nuts.

Disney doesn't allow HALF the stuff that goes on with Gay Days which is why the distinction is necessary. Most couples will spend a day at least at the parks, wearing pride shirts and holding hands etc, which sometimes causes complaints from conservative parents, but Disney is VERY protective. Any aggression, and the aggressor is the one getting removed from the park.

As for Vegas, make sure you pick the right hotels. It's really a mixed bag on the type of service, and responses you'll get from other people.

Also if you ever plan to run for government office or anything like that, don't forget they RECORD everything, and traditionally casino owners aren't above some manipulation. Still you'll get a LOT less looks if you dress sexy there.
