Question Have you ever been "discovered" on the internet?

Whether it's this website or another? I figure there's always men with CD fetishes that look for pictures on various forums and websites. Have you ever been seen anywhere on the internet by someone you know?

I figure with so many people and so many websites, chances are no, but then again someone is bound to find the needle in the haystack simply because the probability is not zero.

I have posted pictures of me dressed, and so far I don't know of anyone I know who has seen me. Maybe they won't want to say anything?

Regardless, I have figured out what to say: "Yes, this is me, this is how I am, I do not care what you think, and what are YOU doing on this website"?

At first this was a big worry for me. We are a picture taking group. The events we attend post pictures on their websites, our friends post pictures on their Facebook. With Julie and I out there in matching dresses, we have ended up on more than one strangers Facebook. While I admit its possible, it seems a long shot.

I once went to a CD/TV/TG party fairly close to my work (what was I thinking?!) and there were pictures taken, and I was in a few of them. I'm sure they have been posted somewhere, and given the proximity chances are someone I know could have seen them. I did, however, do my hair very differently than normal and I did go a little overboard with the makeup, so maybe if they don't look too hard they won't tell it's me (it was also a few years ago, so I'm guessing the probability of them seeing me is constantly declining).

Google your name and your login and see what comes up. If you find images of yourself, the chance exists that someone else might stumble upon them. But in the unlikely event, it is also going to be difficult for someone lurking on fetish sites to ever say anything if they do recognize you.

Highly doubtful really. Especially since most of the men I know (except for my CD friends) have never seen me en femme. If they want to use facial recognition software to uncover () me, let them knock themselves out I figure.

It has worried me some but if they do then my only pictures are here and I usually try and hide my face somehow with a little photo editing. I am not a member or in any other groups except this one. I may try that goggle my name and see what pops up that sounds like a good idea. Thanks Kimdi.

I am basically unrecognizable when dressed as a woman.

But that is why I have not done a boy girl mode picture to show the amazing difference.

Not so far, thankfully. Since I'm fully in the closet about my underdressing (well, except for some shop clerks, ofc) it certainly wouldn't be welcome. I try to minimize my footprint online that tracks back to my vanilla self.

I was discovered on the internet by many years ago.
It was a technical news letter and had nothing to do with dressing.

    I still have followers.

I have not, but I have seen non pornographic images posted here end up on porn sites and Flickr without the original poster's consent.

Almost. On one dating site, I mentioned crossdressing, and a bit too much other personal information. A couple of women at work (NOT the nice kind, either) apparently put 2 + 2 together and thought I fit the description. Acting completely confused about it, I think I escaped being outed.

There's an addendum at post # 82 on that thread, too. It's about a ten minute read.
Why don't we understand our desire to dress, behave and feel like a girl? Because from childhood, boys are told that the worst possible thing we can be, is a sissy. This feeling is so ingrained into our psyche, that we will suppress any thoughts that connect us to being or wanting to be feminine, even to the point of creating separate personalities to assign those female feelings into.

Never "discovered" on the internet since I've never posted a picture.

I like to be low key in most of the stuff I do.

Yup. There's already an older thread on it, but I, MOST LIKELY, lost my job because of it.

Not that I'm aware of but Facebook on my Michelle site sometimes suggests I might know a number of friends and relatives that male-me knows very well. 'Spooky' - I can't work out a logical connection.

I once by two coworkers. I had joined the plenty of fish dating sight but listed for only friendship. Listed interests of cross dressing. About two weeks in a was stopped at work by 1 male coworker that asked if that was really me and later on by a female coworker that told me she thought it was kinda hot. They kept it quiet as far as I know.

I haven't been able to get into my Yahoo ID for sometime. Not able to remember my password. Do not remember the challenge questions either.

If you post pictures, check the google image search with one of yours and see what shows up. Still, I've said it before, it's not a matter of "IF" but "WHEN" the world finds out......

This internet thing can be both a blessing and a curse..... I've done a few vanity searches with my name and even found one reference of me when I was in a club back in the mid 80's at college. Years before the 'net became active..... So far none as Renne.....

I like your attitude and is what I would say too. I'd be like: "what about it?" or "what I do in my free time is my business" or "I'm not breaking any laws".

That's why I've never posted any pictures.I wanted to when I got my favorite dress, but not being very computer skilled,I was afraid it might show up somewhere else,so I didn't do it.

When I read this I googled to see if anything was out there. As it is I have sent pictures into the ether over the years but only two with my face and en femme. One probably no longer exists. The other is a bit more racy but you'd never match it to me at this stage.

But I turned up nothing. Interestingly even when I type my male name, there's only one picture of me out there.

So I think I'm safe for now.

In my case,it has been a non issue..fewer phone calls and emails from people in my past..lol With Facebook,if you fill out your page,it seems realistic that if someone were to search on there for "old classmates" of X school ,then you show up as you have that in your profile..For me,there can be no further damage,so I don't care. As a Transgender activist, there is constant exposure. A few less friends that never were...doesn't matter if they can't accept that I am T.
It SURE is my hair ! I have the receipt and the box it came in !
