I was channel surfing last night and came upon the Jerry springer Filth ... I let my curiosity get the better of me and watch a little...

So the subject is betrayed lovers who get revenge. So we see the women complain that her Man left her for no reason and she wants to know why . So they bring out the man and he comes out dressed up has a women (pretty good looking) . So drama insues but what pissed me off was ...

Jerry looks at the crossdresser and asks 'Are you gay?"

He points to myself showing his clothing and says "What do you think?" with a big smile . And of course they bring out his boyfriend !

Does he have to feed the gay stereotype to all the americans who are watching TV :P It funny how much damage one person , on a crappy show can do to the image of crossdressing...

Shame of it is, thats just how easy some people accept things. They believe what they see and hold that image in there heads, because 'they saw it on TV'. :mad: I'll agree with that Ariel. Pisses me off too.

it's hard to get a possitive out put on a groupe of people that are not all open and out in the publice face......so many of us are afraid to come out to our slefes let a lone the reast of the world ..............people put down what thay don't undestand........

The same has to be said for a couple of episodes of CSI...(I'm a csi junkie) they both refered to CD's as gay... I remember them saying stuff like... 'where's his male porn' etc... and then there was the one about TS and they were put in this sleazy club and was totally over the top!!! I mean don't these people to research before making stuff like that?? Just because you want to look like a woman, automatically makes you fancy men????? I think not

I saw the one in the club, and I think it was most likly right. I would at least think CD's working in a club like that which has male clients and a back room "massage" parlor would be gay. As a hetero CD, I know I would never be or work in a club like that. But for the most part you are right, TV makes us all look bad

I remember one of the crossing Jordan episodes where a man came into the morgue and his wife Or a daughter said that he had one last request that he be burried as a woman, of course this brought about all kinds of questions as to what was the legal or ethical thing to do and nobody wanted to commit themselves to the task of making hima woman but in the end Dr. Macy did what was requested and Jordan asked why he replied why not.
I thought at the time it was appropriate ending. There was no sterotyping or remarks about his sexuality.

What you have to consider is where the stuff is comming from. Mainstream society sees us as gay as a result of things that have happened in the past and they have no desire to spent the time and money that would be required to get the proper information. It is no different with other stuff that hollywood does. They don't take the time to actually see if what they are doing is correct or not.

What really sucks is that as a result we suffer and have to spend even more time hiden because we don't wnat people to think that we are gay. But you also have to consider the fact that it is coming from Jerry Springer and all he wants to do is make money. He doesn't care who gets hurt as long as he makes money. Just look at the videos that are produced from his shows. OH lets just show the pieces of the shows that show fighting or nudity, we'll put it all on a tape and sell it and make millions because that is really what America wants to see anyway.

I think that we should make jerry into a cd for a few weeks and see how he fares as a woman. Then maybe he will be a little more sympathetic to not only the cd's of the world but to more of the people that he is exploiting for his own personal gain.

But seriously though, Jerry Springer and his show is nothing more than a silly little man who allows america to see just how stupid and narrow-minded it has become. It just prove the old saying, "there's a sucker born every minute". I just didn't realize that they would line up for tickets.

i wonder what Jerry would do if he found himself confronted with an audience full of x-dressers. They use to have tar and feathers parties, the military throws blanket parties, and everyone has been to a pajama party. So why not organize a "dress Jerry Party" Let's see if he'll put that on pay per view.
We can all sit here and place blame all over the place as to why society sees us as they do, but we are the representatives of our culture. Personally I think that America thinks we are trying to currupt the minds of the next generation. Excuse me but what do you think is happening with all the violent video games, girls gone wild. Jerry Springer,Jerry Fallwell. Do I need to go on? And then to top it all off we have a president with drunk and disorderly daughters, a vice-president with a lesbian daughter, and WE are corrupting the next generation? (Things that make you go, Hmmmmm)If it were a real place I would love to find a town like the one in the movie, "To Wang Foo".

Most people think of crossdressers as gay because it is an easier concept for them to understand. It is too much of a stretch for the average person to understand crossdressing by itself. If you associate it with homosexuality than it's not as much a threat to straight women and men.
It's up to us to make the public aware. I am not sure how to do this effectively without upseting our love ones and disrupting our jobs.

we have agreed that probably at least 10% of the male gender cross dress, and probably less than 25% of those are gay.

Its a rating game and i have to agree because you cross dress does not always mean your gay!!! this is an art and the bad thing is we do it well!! lets face it we take more pride in what we do than most females we look beter then most we dress beter than most and we pass as them, does that make us all gay no!! and here when things are mostly out in the open on a lot of topics some one has to throw a wrench in the works same we cant be in the ratings because this sit would be well up there. 20/20 did a show on new orleans a fews years back on men that cross dress and lived in small towns and they asked these people how they got along with there nieghbers hey its all part of the show these people work in shows and are proformers posing as females some people are homophobic and you cant get past them but for most they dont care thank god we live in a time that we do and most people are well informed because shows like that would throw us back into the stone age
