US Marine Infantry Veteran. 1982 to 1986. Went cold turkey in boot camp for 4 straight years. It was "Don't tell, Don't tell," not even "Don't ask, Don't tell." The absolute *LAST* thing you would want is that info getting out. The only thing worse was a child molester. Well, actually, it was about equal hate towards both.

US Army 05-09, didn't dress at all and held it in until I got a place off post, then I only had my underwear stash that I would wear when my roommate was away for the weekend.
USMC 74-78 Honorable discharge as an E-5/Sgt. Deep in the closet, but did dress when I could while on leave at home or during the time I lived off base.
