Forgot to mention that I did wear knee highs a couple times on road marches to prevent blisters. A Special Forces mentor taught me that trick.

US Navy. I dressed on my off time. I started hormones the last year before my enlistment was up. I started transition the day after I was honorably discharged from service.

US Army 71-74 Once I had my car with me I kept panties, stockings and garter belt in the trunk. Got married and went to Germany. Stated to under dress there.

    Hi Willow

Did 25 years in the US Army, 4 years active and 21 years Reserve. I do believe serving repressed my urges. Early on I had a GF and we had a magical few weeks where she encouraged my dressing, but then she left. I was really hurt and thought for many years--incorrectly as I later learned--that the dressing was a root cause. Dabbled a bit over the next decade, including one time when I actually shaved my legs. This was a big deal because in the Army, Physical Training (PT) was routine and mostly done in shorts, no matter what the temperature. When I finally retired after 25 years, I do think the leg shaving thing led to a blossoming in my CD activities.

Thanks to all fellow members who have served.

I am currently in the US Navy. I am still in training for my job. I have everything at my house. So When I get home from work, if none of the guys are coming over, I slip into something sexy and comfortable and hang out with the wife.

Four years in the Navy. Got out just when Vietnam was starting up. The desire to dress was there, but wasn't strong until later.

I was Air Force during the Vietnam War. Didn't want to go in and was always only thinking about getting out, esp. when I learned the war was a racket. So I was pre-occupied for that one year seeking an out. Actually for half a year. It took the second half year to process out. I got out way early. (By the way, some call it the disservice. Si?).

Two years in the US Army during the Viet Nam War. Served in the infantry in Nam. Had an abbreviated tour courtesy of a booby trap (IED to you new guys). Had absolutely no cross dressing desires while in the military. Training (basic & AIT) and a tour left no time for thoughts of sex. Exhaustion ruled.

1983- currently still serving /USAF Air Reservist full time. I am a Logistics Specialist. I never let dressing get in the way of job. I was suppose to meet Stacey B down south couple years ago but we were to be restricted to base for that one week trip.
Escapism isn't necessarily bad, but is definitely unhealthy in the long term. While helpful in the short term, things will degrade over time. At some point, the escapee will have to face the issue. Things simply blowing over isn't really going to happen in many situations.

US Navy 1961-1967. At sea rating so had very little space of my own. My off time overseas was spent meeting the people of the place we were ported, and just enjoying what they enjoyed doing. Never was a bar hopper or a b-girl cruiser. Did like home made dinners I was invited to, quite often. Have always been more comfortable with girls and women

US Army 1999-2005 (not including the 4 years as USMA). tank platoon leader, Scout platoon leader, Company XO, Bn staff. During college suppressed it completely. After graudation would dress in privacy of my apartment and on weekends when i could get away, i'd drive to Austin or Houston and enjoy being a girl.

US Army 1963-1969. Urges to dress during that time were non-issue because of the time. When I came home on leave, that was another story.

I was a reservist in the infantry for seven years. I never mixed dressing. If anything it was an attempt to suppress it. I was a poor soldier but then none of us were well particularly well trained. The regular army referred to us scathingly as 'sandbags'.

I had hoped for a career in the military, pilot or something in military aviation. But it was not to be and in truth I would probably have washed out assuming they were ever foolish enough to let me join!

20+ years US Navy, active and reserves. Yes, I wanted to dress but it was never an option on the ship. When I was at home was another matter but this was before the internet and information and clothing was hard to come by.

I do remember being very jealous of the women being able to wear skirts, heels & hose and I couldn't.

The only time I mixed the two was to under-dress on my very last day before retirement.
