The Judge granted my petition, Jenessa is now officially a part of society

Welp, done I saw the judge at 11 AM, we were done by 11:15, the judge signed the petition, handed the case file to me and told me to take it across the hall to the clerk. I paid my $45 court fee and got 5 certified copies of the decree ($20) and at 11:28 I was done with the court and legally my new name and gender. Since I was in the court house I took care of the things I had to do there, went to the county DMV and got my title and registration changed ($12) then upstairs to the Sheriffs office and got my CCW changed ($20). Next I drove across town town the State DMV and got my new drivers licence ($10) then the SSA office (free), next the bank (free) followed by my insurance company (also free) and was home by 4:45 with a Hazelnut latte for my wife.
Now, for all the other stuff, Verizon, Netflix, PayPAl/eBay, Red Box, etc, and what ever else pops up that I have not thought of

That new number is cross referenced to your old number. You might as well keep the old number.

Yay Jenessa! Congrats! I suspect you will think of at least another few hundred things to change.

Congratulations. I have flirted with the idea myself. Not there yet. Family etc.. what sort of lifestyle changes do you dislike? Just my curiosity.

Jenessa- have u had surgery or have a letter from therapist/doc? I have read that in MT you can get a name chage and have DL updated with no letter or surgery, but the sex marking and certificate had to have a letter confirming surgery- still right?

Congratulations!! It's great that you live in a place that makes it easy. I was done, all new ID and gender in one afternoon.
I got home and stared at it all.
You'll probably be finding stuff that needs your name change for a month or so.

    Congratulations,
I am getting ready to start that process myself. Hope mine goes as easily as yours down here in Florida.

Florida is easy, I did the majority of it all within 24 hrs, but I did have to wait 3 weeks for the court date first.
All I ever wanted was to be a girl. Is that really asking too much?

I have a letter, had to show it to the DMV and the SSA, and I sent a copy to to vital statistics office for my BC.

Thank you all for the well wishes, I am still checking my DL every 10 minutes to make sure its really true.
