Let's hang out with a REAL tranny!

On another forum, someone brought up something about if cisgender is an offensive term...
It kind of set me off...

Anyways, yeah, cis people sometimes love us! They have only seen one on a TV show like Tyra or maybe the documentary about that one chick Jazz Jennings. She is the model for Clean and Clear. You know cause teenagers have SO many complexion problems in their old age.

Some of this is real and some of it is how most of us might hear it.

So yeah, a real tranny will be accompanying us today. Make sure and have your damn questions ready!

I was telling my family all about you. I know you want everyone to know your business.
I just wanted them to be ready so they would not die of shock when they saw you horrible disfigurement.
So, when did you decide to do this? Is that when you knew or when you started?
Do you date men or women? Are you going to have the full surgery? I knew one male to female transsexual who had the full surgery and he looked really good! I mean she.

So do you dress like this at home? (No, I just do this at work, I hide it at home) Does your family know?
What was your old name? Oh come on, I won't tell anyone. Not like I felt the need to tell my family about you, even though you won't meet them.

You don't mind if I stare at you like this do you? So what restroom do you use? (I like to go to the men's room, pull up my skirt and urinate in the sink, thank you)
So what do you want to be called? (Oh please call me "sir" since I am in a dress. Or just call me "that thing")

Wow, you look good! Got a hot date? (no, I just prefer to not walk around in my Walmart pajamas or nasty tee shirt like a lot of GG's)

So what kind of work do you do? (I walk around downtown with a mattress strapped to my back)

I tell ya folks, it is great we have some fans but damn they get on my nerves sometimes.

    Yeah, this.

Friends and acquaintances from pre-transition are still surprised when I happen to mention in conversation that I much prefer that my private affairs be just that. Evidently, it never occurred to them.

I just had an avowed liberal progressive person I met on an online dating site "congratulate" me on my "successful maturation as a female," and that, as a biologist, he had personally experienced "many animal species who, while starting out life as a male, changed to a female at a later time," so I guess his message was that he doesn't really marvel at all that I would be able to do so.

Now, is that romantic, Or What? Talk about wooing.

I am weary, yet I must continue my journey.

Keep smiling, you lovely animal species, Ann

'Fraid it's gonna get worse. We are this year's hot item. Quite literally we are a fad (like truckers and CB radio for those who remember the 1980's).

What that means is that ordinary folks (muggles, if you will) feel empowered to walk up to us and start conversations. "Congratulating" us, telling us how brave we are, or asking all the questions that Nicole Erin listed and a few she may have missed. Total strangers, with happy smiles on their faces, asking about your breasts, your hormones, and your sexual aparatus.

So, yeah, be prepared for the onslaught, for the embarassment in the middle of your quiet restaurant dinner with friends, and for the sinking feeling it gives you because, well, because we're celebrities. This year is our fifteen minutes of fame. So we gotta act the part, regardless of the pain it causes us. Smile and carry a medium point Magic Marker in your purse (black, silver, or pink, your choice) so you can sign autographs and pose for pictures with your new admirers.

The good news is that by this time next year our news will be wrapping fish and the World will have gone back to obsessing about the Kardashians. Oh, wait, that ain't gonna help.

    Hugs,
    Persephone.

I had a taste of it last month at a bike show. "Oh, hey, you a tranny, you know, like Venus, on SOA?" Not quite. I'm real, not an actor. And I'm not a prostitute. "So, where's the sexy dress?" I'm a transwoman that likes riding bikes, not bikers. I'm not a hooker. Lord only knows where the photos ended up.

All of my old friends have finished with the 'I'm a novelty' cr*p, and new people I meet have no need to know my history. It was tough at first- people I had known for years asking about what was in my pants.
It gets easier. Luckily, after the news has sunk in, and the novelty worn off, you go on just being you. Other than a few heartfelt compliments on my hair, or how I'm dressed, nobody cares that I'm trans anymore.

As annoying as this is, I consider it much better than "Die you <expletive> fag**t." I consider that progress.

So, you already got the operation, right? (Wouldn't you think I'd want to do something about this face first?)

Oh, that's an interesting nickname (it's not a nickname, it's my NAME).

Is that your real name or your artistic name? (Real name. My artistic name is Robert Downey Jr.)

Do you wear panties or briefs?

Is that your hair? (No, that's my cat. Mr. Tidybottom, say hello to Miss Hermann here).

    I remember the 80's well.

So if we are a fad, does that mean someday people are gonna look at us like we presently view the mullet - outdated? Are we gonna get told that it is out of fashion to be GLBT?

so you just do this like for drag? (I am a professional vocalist who has performed with some top line jazz and lounge pianists here in Denver...I don't lipsync and I don't do camp...)

Wow your breasts look so real (they should). When I used full padding the question was "Can I touch them?" I took one out and handed it to him

Why do you wear dresses all the time, don't you want to fit in? (I dunno...I kind of like the attention. really I have the legs for it.)

Here's the Colorado question "So are you going to Trinidad?" For what? They only have a Wal-mart there. The surgeon left years ago.

"I saw those (TGs) in Thailand...you going to go there and live?" Uh...no

the other month, on a dating site I use I straight up got asked if I were "uncut". all google came up with was porn so :/
I also had a couple people tell me with little to no inquiry on my part that they preferred dating transwomen because they were "easier" to be with, I guess in terms of the whole male/female mental divide or whatever sexists call it. I mean, nothing like complimenting a trans person based on qualities they're trying to leave behind right...

    dating sites suck, basically.

I would like to meet these people that think trans people are "easier" typhoidmary. There is a bitch that lives inside me that I try not to ever let out. I could make an exception for them.

For once, Urbun Dictionary: uncut actually has it right.

Here are some witty and not so nice comebacks to some of the more probing questions people ask.

    "Whats in your pants?"
    With that attitude, Not you.

"Did you still have your [male appendage nickname of choice]?"
Oh you mean Dick? No, I dumped Richard weeks ago. [Granted this only works if you're Str8/Bi/Pan]

"Did you have/going to have the surgery?
Yes, I had the stick removed from my ass years ago, I bet my doctor can do wonders for you too!

"Is that your real hair?" or "Is that a wig?"
No, I'm wearing the scalp of the last person that asked me a stupid question. Do you like it?

    "So are you gay now?"
*If you're Lesbian* No, I have always liked other girls. or We prefer the term Lesbians.
*If you're Straight* Well there was this one time in college, but I prefer guys.
*If you're Bi/Pan* No, I still go both ways but I'm leaning towards [the opposite sex of person asking question] at the moment.

I am sure there is more I come up with, but The Walking Dead is starting in 2 minutes.

Yeah, the one about "fitting in". Who wants to dress boring in a plain ol jeans and tee? One should aim to look GOOD, but too many people just aim for the dumpster.

One could dress in pajamas and go to Walmart in Trinidad. Now THAT'S Walmart-y

I would have paid to see that!

Barbara and I did have a waitress at a restaurant ask us where the good drag shows went since the Queen Mary closed in the SFV. Apparently all TG folks like to go to drag shows...

Still, she was nice about it, not judgmental, and we had a nice conversation and perhaps educated her a bit about out community.

The only person who asked any of those questions was my future boss, who needed to know that since I would be working en femme without legally changing my name. I have been working there now for 4 months. My credentials are still in my male name and he did not even bat an eyelash over this issue. Everyone at work refers to me as Celeste. Sometimes they get the pronouns reversed but then correct them rapidly.

No one else anywhere has bothered to ask any of those rude questions.

Actually I had surgery to have a second penis installed, plus I also use a packer so it looks like I have 3 penises.
