    Miss Adventure in Vegas

First off, it probably a good thing I wasn't in Vegas the previous week. I would have loved to meet you girls, but my vacation was supposed to be my wife and me, not Meghan. D.W. gave me the gift of an evening GNO after my transformation.

Anyway I've got to tell you some of the funny things that happened.

It started off bad, or so I thought. D.W. developed a cold. We got back to the hotel room around 2:00. She laid down to rest. I gathered my stuff up. Hit the shower ~2:40. Had to do my chest legs and face. I got out of the shower and it was already 3:45. She didn't have time to shower and was still asleep. I had a 4:00 appointment, so I told her I had to go and I would be back around 6:30. Too bad, I wanted her along but she was more relieved she didn't have to go.

So I hustled to get from the north tower of the Bally though Paris and up to the parking garage. I called Amy to let her know I'd be late. Trying to get out of the Bally parking lot is bad, lots of pedestrians, taxis and shuttles. Drove like a bat out of hell. Fortunately I pre-checked my route the day before because there was a weird turn that the GPS didn't catch. I got there at 7 after. Whew! That bat was fast.

So I went in and the first thing we tried were shoes. Famous Footware, Payless and Kohl's all tell me I'm a 10 maybe even a 9.5. But the pumps were too tight, so we went with an 11 strappy. With a 5" Heel!!! Oh c**p. I can just manage my 3" boots. D.W. and I had been observing lots of girls in hyper heels all week. Well now it was my turn.

I picked a pocket bra that just fits my forms. 38 C for size 7. More like a D. Got changed into my unmentionables. Did I mention they are back seem hose and padded briefs? Everything is cool. Amy had a lot more outfits to try than I thought. Unfortunately the cutest one (try That one first) had a zipper malfunction as did the second. Lots of separates and one dress.

It took a while to go through so many combinations. I was like the kid in the candy store. I ended up picking the dress to keep and a skirt and top for my second. Neither was what I had originally envisioned. Amy had me dress in my second choice, and then did my makeup. Wow!

Then came the wigs. Double Wow! I'll leave that to my photo post...but I will mention it is not my natural color.

Amy did the shots in the first choice, then carefully helped me change into the dress. Finishes the photos. As we chatted, I told her D.W. chose to go to the Drag show as the night out. Mostly for safety and less moving around. Plus she hates dancing. Well Amy say she has free passes to the show! Awesome, I hadn't had time to get tickets. (Remember the shower took an hour). About then I got a text from D.W. am I ok? It's 6:45! I speed up my check out and good bye.

When I got back to the hotel, I took the long walk from the garage, through Paris to the Bally casino. Forget anything you’ve read about a feminine gait. Especially on ramps. Steps were easier. I called my wife and asked her to meet me downstairs. So I sat at a slot and waited. I saw her come down and walk right up to me. Aw, disappointment!

I asked her how she picked me out. She said, in order:
You were the only transvetite I could see.
You looked slightly out of place.
You looked like a made up person.
We've been married for 25 years.
Your face is darker here (upper lip and around chin)

I told her about the tickets and that we needed to go to Linq to see the show. She looked me up and down, and said “Taxi” Linq is only about a block and a half from Bally. She said ”You’ll never make it in those heels”. I let her talk to the cabbie, with some “uh huhs” and “Oks” here and there. She told me she felt more nervous than me. We walked through Linq, up the escalator to the Box office, and I was picking the seats. There was still a tax and fee on the tickets but it saved use about $150. She paid with her credit card.

We had about 2 hours to show time, so we went to a Mexican restaurant in the hotel. Got a lot of nice smiles (or was that a smirk?), and “what would you ladies like”. I worked on trying to not sound obvious to the staff. I ordered a margarita. D.W. said “What? No Guinness tonight?”. She asked if I had a name. I had half mentioned it about 6 months ago, but she must have blocked it out. Dinner went well and we talked. She asked me not to wink at her though, it made her uncomfortable.

We went to the show, waited in line to get a picture taken with one of the performers. It was funny, they weren’t sure if D.W. and I were together or not. “Reba” complimented my purse, and I told her my shoes were killing me. We got seated at a table across from a couple and two guys from Minnesota. They were a little chatty and got me to talk. Later my wife asked “Do you think those guys knew?” I asked her how my voice sounded. She said it was ok, neutral.

During the show, I was worried that my lipstick had come off. It was dark, and I reached into my purse. I thought I had pulled the lip liner out, but it turned out to be my eyeliner. I put some on the inner parts of my lip. And then tasted it. I wiped it off as best as I could, in the dark with no mirror. I reapplied the liner. At the end of the show, I looked away from everyone till the table cleared, then asked my wife to look. She said it was ok.

Outside the show, I waited to see the photo with Reba. I knew my wife would not want the photo, typically but especially with me dressed. She went to the bathroom. I was tempted to go check my lips, but did not go too. We made our way back to the hotel, and went to the room. It was going on Midnight, so I went to the bathroom to get cleaned up. It took me about 40 minutes. As I pulled the dress off, low and behold, there was the slant skirt underneath! We were so busy with the photo shoot and wardrobe changes, I forgot to pull it off before Amy helped me put the dress on. Oh well, guess I need to call Amy and pay for a new skirt!

All in all it was a great night. I learned a few things. 5” heels are a lot tougher than 3”. Slow down on dress changes. You can’t fool your wife. People in Vegas don’t care how your dressed as long as you give them money. Don’t try too hard with the voice and you’ll be ok. I don’t mind being made in a safe environment. Never do your lipstick in the dark.

Now you may think that the wife’s comments were a little harsh, but remember that this was difficult and uncomfortable for her. Second, she did not say anything that wasn’t true. And when and how she said it was not nasty or mean. For the most part she was very cool and very supportive, looking out for my best interest. After all she could have made me walk all the way to Linq. If I were in 5” heels, we would have. She could have also chosen to see Chippendales or gone dancing. I gave her venue choice as it was Girls Night Out.

Sounds like you had a great time. Las Vegas is a great place for crossdressing. I spent a week there earlier this year and didn't bring any male clothing. It was great!

    Many happy returns!

I'm sorry u missed DLV, Meghan. Sounds like u would have had a lot of fun with us girls!

I assume when u mention Amy, u met at her "Just You" store? She held a pleasant open house for us during DLV. I got to chat with a number of girls there and grab free lunch before my next event. Of course, I looked over all the complete stock she has, that u mentioned, too.
U can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect to enjoy life to the max. When u try new things, even if they r out of your comfort zone, u may experience new excitement and growth that u never expected.

Challenge yourself and pursue your passions! When your life clock runs out, you'll have few or NO REGRETS!

Yes that was Amy at Just You. If you check out my photos in Never in a million years thread, you can see her work. I know I would have had a blast at DLV but this was my wife and my 25th anniversary. More about us then Meghan. The GNO was her present to me. Did I ever mention how much I love my wife?!

Vegas sure teaches you a lot of things.

Glad it was good, Vegas is easy compared to other places.

    Thanks Bev.

You're right about that. It's like training wheels. Funny thing is I was very comfortable and more so as the evening went on as I observed how others reacted and didn't embarrass my wife. The stupid things were funny and I wouldn't want to miss them. I personally feel like I'm ready to take the training wheels off.

My wife was pretty good but clearly less comfortable than me. So Vegas was the perfect place for her to hang with Meghan. I dearly want to include her in the future but it's not too likely, although I always have hope. I really love her and like to be with her, but this "lifestyle" is a real challenge for her.

Ozark, that thought had crossed my mind. That's actually a flattering idea. Maybe Vegas could provide CDs with a stipend as street artists and being part of the colorful back drop.

When I went to Vegas i was expecting to see some crossdressers, but to my surprise I didn't see not even one. I know there are a lot of people there and it is alittle in the fast lane or maybe you guys look that amazing I couldn't tell. I had all my Maria stuff with me and the deal was if we see one crossdresser I get one walk down Vegas Blvd. I was looking, God knows I was looking. Sounds like even though it sounded rushed and busy you enjoyed yourself and it takes a lot of courage to do what you did, sounds like a dream come true. Even though I had all my Maria stuff I wonder if I did see one of you guys there if I would have did it. Good for you, live your life.

In 5 days, I saw 2... I think. We were all moving too fast to stop and look. My wife only saw one...Me! She was surprised too after hearing stories from coworkers.
