That's my dirty washing !!
You may like to have something to smile at over coffee, so I'll say what happened this morning.
I get up earlier than my wife so sometimes I slip a skirt and sweater on, it felt cold so I intended to put a pair of black opaque hold ups on with lace tops, anyway I changed my mind and put them on a kitchen chair intending to pick them up later so I tucked the chair closer to the table.
Later I came down for breakfast and then went straight off to walk the dog, I knew a near neighbour would be calling, she has been a good friend for years and makes curtains for a living so was meeting my wife to measure for new kitchen curtains.
I arrived back with the dog and went to the utility room to get her food when I spotted the holdups in the top of the wash basket ! OH No !! I'd clean forgotten !
I sat with my wife and the neighbour for a few minutes and then she left , my wife told me that as they went to sit down at the kitchen table she nearly sat on the holdups , she grabbed them quick saying , " Oh look I must have missed some of my dirty washing !" she scooped them up and rushed to the utility room !
She was really OK about it and we had a good laugh , I added it could have been much worse !
How things have changed I wouldn't have got off so lightly only weeks ago !

Reason: If you need to use ***** then the word probably should not be on the forum

Funny turn of events, many if not all of us have no doubt left items of "gender inappropriate" clothing where it perhaps should not have been with varying results, some funny or charming, some not so much! Thank God for your supportive spouse, you owe her on that one! Mostly though, I'm writing to say how charmed I am by the term "hold ups", and how I will think of your delightful British term whenever I slip on my thigh highs!
