Hi Lana,
You may be aware that FanFair was just a few weeks ago, so you will be waiting until next October at this point. I believe it is one of the longest continuous annual events in the nation. It's held each year in October in Provincetown, which is a fantastic back drop. It's safe, accepting and has something for just about everyone.
I have been multiple times, and each time have loved the experience....

They do have a limited number of "scholarships" and you should be able to find information on the website.....
