I switched my primary care doctor from a man to a woman doctor. The man just seemed to be coasting and not doing a lot of doctoring, so "I fired him".
I had my first appointment a couple of months ago. I decided going in that I would be open with my CD/TG status if I felt comfortable. First I was seen by two female interns and a student. I felt very comfortable with all of them. Then I got the question, "Do you have something that you do that makes you really happy?" The question is to make sure that you have some activities so you don't get (clinical) depression.
I couldn't have gotten a better invitation. I said, "I have kind of a hobby", and I brought some of the pics on my phone. At least once I got the comment, "Is that really you?" Then when the head doctor came in, I showed her a few pics. We walked out of the exam room talking, and a couple of GG nurses looked like they felt left out. So I shared with them.
Today, I saw two different GG Doctors and shared my favorite, most feminine pic with them. That pic is of me in a long red sequined evening gown. I've often gotten the impression if I put that gown up for bidding, I would have a lot of bidders.
Whenever I share some pics in a doctor's office, I always remind them that these pics are protected from HIPPA (US Medical Privacy Act).
This not the first doctor who "has been read into the program" so to speak.
