    My First Powt

Long time lurker, first time poster
I guess as you get older, you get less fearful of outing yourself to others.

So after a long time lurking (and a previous time when I was signed up but never posted), I finally decided it was time.

My crossdressing urges date to when I was younger than 10. I can remember visiting my aunt and uncle's condo in Chicago, and there were clothes hanging in their common basement. One item was a girl's dress, and I wanted to try it on. Unfortunately, I was a bit chunky as a youth (and for most of my life I've fluctuated being chunky and extra chunky), and the dress didn't fit. The attraction has been there since.

In grade school I was always jealous of the boys who went as girls for Halloween. Finally in 8th grade it was my turn. I got to go trick or treating dressed in my older sister's clothes. Nothing fancy, just a top and a skirt, knee socks and my own tennis shoes, and my mom's wig. Our next door neighbor thought I was my sister (probably bad news for my sister).

Since then I've been out dressed a few times. My wife of 20+ years knows, but she is the only one. She is tolerant but mostly not enthusiastic about my dressing. She's bought me a few things (usually panties), and I have saved some of her clothes before they made it to Goodwill (after losing 40 pounds the last couple of years I am closer in size to her; still would like to drop another dress size).

So as I get older I guess I'm getting bolder. Not ready for pictures yet, but that is down the road.

I'm from the St. Louis area, retired accountant, sports enthusiast, and a crossdresser.

    The hidden side of me.
    May 3rd, 2016

In October 2016 when my wife was out of town I had four days dressed. Had a makeover at Sephora, tried on dresses, bought a couple, haven't looked back.

In April 2017 I did a train trip to Chicago and before I went to Beauty Brands for a manicure. I wanted girly nails. My nail tech was some woman from Arkansas named Michelle who spilled her guts to me and we've been friends since.

Been out maybe a 1,000 times since then. Never a bad experience, lots of really good ones. Plays, concerts, shopping, more shopping, accidentally outing myself to my wife's best friend, intentionally outing myself to a good friend (and she took it exceptionally well), and lots of blogging about my experiences at Kandi's. In a week, flying pretty again to Las Vegas for five days at Diva Las Vegas.

Always fun to find out what's next.

I'm going to have to dig back a little but you did remind me the great feeling of satisfaction of speaking as my fem side for the first time.

I have too many posts to go back that far. However, my first thread was posted in April of 2012 enquiring about a place to dress in Boston.
Please call me Jamie, I always_have crossdressed, I always will, "alwayshave".

Mine was back in 2014 in reply to a thread entitled "Anyone. Can I Please Ask Your Advice". The OP was considering coming out to someone and wasn't sure how to get the conversation started.

I just turned 50 in Dec. and have been crossdressing for about 43 years i think . I hope I can be as much help to others as I have already been help here. I should warn everyone I spell real bad.

Hi I think in my first post I was concerned that I would be perceived as strange to lead the life I do but you have all been so lovely and reassuring I am now so much more comfortable and confident.

I'm going to answer this with a fun story from my first on line interaction related to cross dressing.
The first person I interacted with on the world wide web turned out to live only a few blocks away. They were super closeted and scared to be found out. We never got to meet up. Just so random to be so close when they could be anwhere.

8/19/2005 It has been quite the journey.

Keeping track of the little clues

Wondering if I am alone in this. I am married and my wife does not know. At the same time I am a at a stage where I am shopping more and trying to dress more especially when I travel. I was in Chicago last week and did some shopping at the MAC store. I was wearing boy clothes and had forgetten that I had left the receipt in my pocket. Tonight putting my jeans on I pulled out the receipt. There it was my purchase of moisturizer, I probably could have explained that but not the new tube of Satin Twig Lipstick. I was able to stuff the receipt back into my pocket before my wife noticed. Not sure what I would have said. Wonder if I am now at the stage where I subconsiously want to be caught.

This was one of my first posts in 2006.
"As I read the posts, I find more and more, that many of us have SO's that are not quite happy with us as CD's. Some of what I will relate now, I had already mentioned before, but I think if I put my events in order, it may help some of you in becoming more open to your SO.
About a year and a half ago, I found a site, guysingirdles.com. I don't think the site is a CD site, but it does tout the advantages of wearing a girdle. It mentions mens girdles, but really pushes wearing of the womens.
My wife agreed that might be fine for me. I progressed thru different girdles and wound up wearing mostly the all-in-one. A girdle slips on so much easier with panties than with jockey shorts. Pantys now 24/7. I tried not to have much lace in the beginning. Best to ease into that. I even wore panthose in the cooler weather and she was okay with that. Now, with the summer heat, the all-in-one was not comfortable. I mentioned that a bra and panty was no different than an all-in-one. Wife agreed. Bought my first bra and used the short suspender(mentioned by me in previous posts) to keep my flexies, with lace, from rolling. She even bought me a bra. Great comfort. I next mentioned buying some PJ's. I wanted satin and the sale prices in the ladies dept were great. Bought a few pair, but mentioned that a gown might be cooler. Bought a few gowns, short and long and a robe. For my birthday yesterday, SO gave me four more.
She has gone along with each small step of my CD'ing, but only, I believe, since it was only a small step at a time. I also noticed that I am a much nicer person with her and we hold hands a lot when walking. I brought this up, and she agrees.
I get a snicker every once in a while, but I think she has accepted the fact that I am more comfortable under-dressed femme. I doubt I will ever be able to don a wig, make-up, etc., but for the time being, life is good.
I did mention shaving my legs the other day, but I think that will take a little time to ease into. Maybe I can pull a few hairs every day until they are all gone.
I hope the above might give some ideas on being accepted. I am sure if I had donned a bra, panties, hose, etc. on her all at once, I'd have H--- to pay."
Over the years, progression has proceeded to dresses, skirts, blouses, lipstick, earrings, necklaces, heels, toenail polish, etc. on a daily basis. I think my wife accepts all, until I hear every few months "i don't know why you wear those things". The only "no, no" is dressing outside the house.
Even though I post infrequently, I enjoy reading all the posts.
