Yes, I care about my partner. She's been really good about everything in our marriage. We have an understanding about my dressing and she's recently even expanded that a bit.
We work well together. I'm almost always in guy mode, only dressing about once a month. We go out on date nights every week or two just to be together.

My friend has never seen me dressed, other than in pictures.
She has a couple of times told me to go dress, But I have never done it.
Maybe someday. I highly doubt that we will ever be seen in public together.

Escapism isn't necessarily bad, but is definitely unhealthy in the long term. While helpful in the short term, things will degrade over time. At some point, the escapee will have to face the issue. Things simply blowing over isn't really going to happen in many situations.
My wife didn't like the way people looked at her either, so I've never been out with her while in girl mode since.

My wife has never been bothered by us being out together.
My wife is very comfortable doing things together in public. We go out as two women frequently to shop, dine out, run errands, etc.
