When I log into my phone, as with many of my apps, I use the face recognition option. The funny thing is when I'm made up, as Melani, it doesn't recognize me and prompts me to use my code. Not really a big deal just makes me giggle a bit. Do any of you have the same experience? Something says I'm not alone here.

Guess my phone is more friendly.
It doesn't make any difference to it. I can change wigs, change glasses, full or partial makeup or drab and it opens right up. Facial recognition is supposed to be based on features like eye spacing, cheek height and such, not on things we do to look good.

I have the same experience a Cheryl. Mine opens 95% of the time. She is right about how it determines if it is you. Samsung Z flip phone.

I never noticed till now but my phone will recognize me no matter how I'm dressed.

I'm with Orchid. My dog recognizes me no matter how I'm dressed. My phone, on the other hand, has no idea what I look like.

I too have had some issues with my Computer recognizing me when in Robyn mode. But it usually learns that it is me over time. The funny thing is that on the two cruises that I have gone on, exactly a year apart, the customs facial recognition software, when departing the ship after the cruise, does not recognize me. This software uses your stored passport photo and should be some of the best Facial Recognition software in the world but in my case it misses it every time. It is a big compliment to me when this happens as it should be with you Savannah.

My phone also doesn't recognize me as Grace. It only recognizes me in drab. I did some experimenting and took off my glasses (which I don't wear in drab) and it still didn't recognize me. However, when I removed my glasses and wig, it was more likely to recognize me.

My OnePlus phone recognises me with no problems.
My phone is totally confused. It has not recognized me in about 1 year.
This is exactly what happened today. Been trying to learn new makeup technique and eventually i look different
First time in a year I could get all dolled up, thought about this thread and l just had to see. Sure enough the phone unlocked no problem.
Well Heck ... sometimes I look in the mirror, and I don't recognize me!
My phone won't consistently recognize my fingerprint. LOL
I still use the fingerprint, but occasionally my phone will put together picture montages with me, me and my wife, the kids. Joss has literally gotten her own numerous times. It?s fun to see all of the different looks.

My passport and drivers licence are with me in makeup and I do wonder now if facial recognition would pick up the difference if I wore no makeup.
I noted that Cheryl T said that facial recognition is based on the symmetry of your feature and yet not all phones recognise their owners. Lucky that you dogs still know you. LOL

If you are on an iPhone, you can set up an alternative appearance. Go to Settings>FaceID>set up alternative.... and follow the instructions
