If you could have any item of femmine clothing what would it be? I've always wanted a nice ballroom dress. But I can't find one yet!

remeber 30 years ago there wasnt alot of info as there is now if you were lucky enough to be in the city like i was there was some places to venture out but in those days we were all classified as Dragg Qeens. Most of us hid in secret.there was no sisterhood like today. If you were one of the lucky ones that caught some ones eye they took you under there wing and that was few and far between !!.I think when you hit your late 30"s or so you also find that youve paved most of your own road.Meaning that you not as beholdent to people and youve become a little tougher and what may have hurt you when you were younger just doesnt seem to even bother you anymore. We us girls of 40 and plus have suffered to wounds of arrows shot by people who didnt understand us but we opend the doors for all you younger girls to be able to enjoy who you are xxxxxxxx's angel
Hey girls,
Don't you hate it when you walk with a skirt/dress and you can see the buldge. I've been thinking of different ways of hiding my balls/penis like using masking tape on your panties to tuck them back under you lol. If i'm wearing sexy tight jeans it's easir to hide but gota becareful and watch down their all the time to make sure it's not exposed. Maybe a hard cased panties made of plastic and was very close to your body would help..... anyone heard of something like that
Jenny
they make a gaff for that and if you go into the argives here there's a topic on how to make one
I'm not quite sure how to explain this, but some panties have a second layer of material in the crutch area, and it is sometimes possible to tuck your man-gina (Deuce Bigalow reference) into this fabric, and safely out of view.

Well, I can never get enough tights! But being a bit more ambitious, I would love a really realistic wig or breast forms.

I see lots of good answers. I agree that 30 years ago things were much different, both in terms of tolerance and in terms of available information. Thirty years ago, as far as I knew, I was the only one like this. Oh, I could conceive of there being other cross dressers, but I had no idea there were as many as there actually are. Certainly, I can't think of a single person with who I would have been able to risk my secret back then.
There's still a huge stigma attached to it, but we know we aren't alone and we know there are a large number of people who will accept us. As was said in the previous post, we also have little to prove at this point in our lives. I care little of what people think about me on most things, cross dressing being the exception. I have come out to a few people, but I'm not willing to risk coming out to business associates and certain people with whom I have key relationships. I suppose a lot of this feeling is ingrained behavior, after hiding for so many years. I envy the new generations who are more free to express themselves without having to worry about the level of social stigma attached to behaviors such as cross dressing.
I found this site to be very helpful http://mattea.trans-woman.de/en/tucking.htm. I do this method and then put on a gaff and I can go around comfortably for hours and never show my "bulge".

Hey girls,
Have you ever been caught and if now how close where you to being caught crossdressing?
I was caught once putting red cherry nail polish on in my room.
And once again when I left my makeup on going to a friends place.
I'm out of the closet now though, so this is a qustion for those who are not out of the closet.

Here's a good example of something I'd like to have! It's $130, plus $30 if you need it in size 13 or 14. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so...since I've written about 45, maybe this is worth the other 955!

if you're willing to wear hard plastic panties, there's another option, from days of old...the cast iron chastity belt.

I've seen that not all crossdressers are alike. Some dress in public some do it part time some do it full time some just do it at home in secret. I am just wondering, when you wear femmine clothes, does it have to be a dress/skirt to feel more femmine?
How do others feel about this?
Jenny
i have been here for around a year.dressed since 12.good times you bet.
Do you sleep crossdressed? I wear a white nighty and panties. It's so comfortable but I hate taking it off in the morning.

As others have mentioned, it was very different world in the 1970s and early 1980s. No internet, no email, no texting, most cities had only three TV channels -- oh yeah, and no videogames (they were just startin to hit the arcades). So needless to say finding out that there might be other people like you in the world wasn't exactly easy.Originally Posted by Mz_Jenny
At most, one might have seen she-male porn (assuming you lived somewhere where you could find a porn shop), but for me at least, that was something different. I didn't want to be a woman, I just wanted to pretend I was one from time to time.
Plus, others have said, the social climate was very different. Gays had only come out of the closet after Stonewall in 1969 and homophobia was still quite open. When I in high school, just wearing a pink polo shirt (popularized by the preppie revival) was enough to start rumors -- and this was in LA, not exactly redneck country.

Why do we like wearing bra's? most women hate them. Perhaps it's to feel more femmine.
Jenny
ive been caught many times, growing up...and it was all equally quite a shock. But recently, i was at walmart doing some shopping. I had a pink girly nightgown in my cart, when a friend of mine (whom works there) approached. i acknowldged him and kept going (but i know he saw it in my cart......) I havent spoken to or seen him since then, so i dont know what he thinks.......
I use 'Blue Tac'. Better for skin as it is Non-Alergenic

Hey girls,
Does anyone consider themselves or use the words 'Bi-sexual when crossdressed'? in describing yourself?
A curious thought.
