Web Stores-Ad for Men but photo all woman

I am so tired of looking at web pages that say go to this site for panites/stockings/lingerie for men.. All I see are ads that are woman! They must think we are all stupid and believe it we weat their stockings or panites we will now look we have feminine legs or such.

I feel so ripped out.. I know there are some sites out there that area truly for men. I know we like to wear feminie lingierie.. (that sounds silly, like there is masculine lingerie?) but if you say Lingerie for Men shouldn't the ads be of men. I do not mean porn but ads like are of woman in lingerie except they are men.

Am I the only one to feel like this?

Yes I agree in part with you. But if you haven't realized that women also feel like you do, because most women aren't the shape and size of the models shown. (HUG) Felicia

The few sites I've found that have pictures of men wearing lingerie usually show some "hunk" with a pool table flat set of abs, THAT AIN'T ME.
I can understand the frustration of women who are looking at ads for lingerie and all they see are some waif thin sex kitten and THAT AIN'T THEM.

I'm with Ericka Richards in that possibly we should start our own site with pictures of REAL people wearing lingerie. Not all of us are perfect, but that's the point. Not so much a picture gallery of lingerie, but rather a site to show how particular items will fit a body, that happens to be male, and what can be done to "help" for a better fit. I'm game to be a model, as long as you have a "bullet proof" lens for the camera.

Those sites annoy me too. I guess that's why I started going to actual stores. That way I can look, and feel the merchandise, and know what I'm getting. BTW, the site that really got me in a bad way was the one for panties for men. Yuck!!! Love and xxxx, Lily

    adds for men

Girls, I feel the same way and often think how usefull a store that sold products for us using real CD models would be.

There is one store I have found that does come close to this idea. Try Frishman's in Bronx, NY. Web site is http://www.frish.com Click on the "Frish Girls Gallery" link and and the "Reel Girls" link and you will see real CD girls wearing the store's products.

Part of the problem here is that manufacturers provide the advertsing copy for these sites and they provide only GGs models, of course, as that is the vast majority of their customer base. We just don't have the numbers to count as much in the marketplace.

I have noticed this too,Kathy.Even some of the links that I've looked at through the forum do that - you click on a link that says men's panties or high heels for men and what you get is a site that says women's panties, men's boxers/briefs or a regular shoe store that happens to have larger sizes of women's shoes not stores that cater to us.Granted some of the links, especially those that specifically mention cd'ing or tg do have stuff that is targeted to us,but the one that are misleading like you mention irritate me also.

I know how you feel Kathy. That's why I don't buy from those places anymore.

Sorry Ericka and Phyllis, I'm not sure I'd be buying at that store either. I think it all comes down to being realistic. Yes I know what that nightgown or whatever is going to look like on me. But darn it, I know what I want it to look like on me too. So I see something online and it looks really nice on the model. But then I have to resculpt it for my body. And I'm getting better at figuring out what's going to look good on me.

Isn't that the whole trick though? We've learned to be realistic about how men's clothing will look on us but we still like to think imagine us looking like that suave debonaire man modeling it. I just like to do the same with women's clothing.

I agree with Phyliss but here is a web-site that does just that. It does show real men wearing womens clothing.

    Mind Set

I'm with you gurls in a way but do you really want to look at some harry pot belly-ed guy in lingerie ? Face it men's bodies are different no curves, too tall, no boobs and the fat distribution just makes the clothes designed for women look terrible on most of us. I really don't know how some gurls claim that shape ware does anything for them ether. I have tried it with no results again the stuff was made for women and their bodies. I love dressing it's me it's who I am I try to do it as tastefully as I can given the limited items that I can look good in. So on another note I ran across an ad for women's under ware that was designed like men's yup! boxers, jockeys and tees in gray and white yuck, not attractive at all. Face it with only ten percent of the population being CD and less than that who dress for reasons wanting to look good were fighting a loosing battle.

Try google-ing mens pantyhose and you be surprised to find a few. My only objection is that they are some times cut to accomadate mens pants and that means at the hips. I don't have hips. Comfilon uses male models but is quick to point out that it is not a crossdressers site. Would'nt want to offend the straight guy pantyhose wearing crowd would we?

Its the same concern I have about web sites and catalogues for "plus size " women---14w-24w. When you look at many of them, the clothes are on a size 4 or 6 model. How insulting to women who need to purchase from these companies !!!

Well, the pics show what I would call hunks more than guys like us. Anyway, it's a pity the pics don't come with their phone numbers...

I've had the same concern before and either mentioned here or on another site. What I did realize afterwards was that like models for women's clothing aimed at selling to women, they use the best models they can afford to sell their products, which are manufactured for women. If a crossdresser's clothing site used male models they would select models that were beautiful and looked like women. The models would then tuck and create cleavage and would probably be on HRT giving them a bit of a womanly figure. So you may be looking at men on some of the crossdressers sites without realizing it.

My other concern was the manufacturing of women's clothes for men, particularly bras. Since most crossdressers do not have real breasts and wear forms then all bras for sale on the site should take that into consideration and sell full coverage bras that hide the forms completely. Panties should be made without gussets, my big fear of having gusset lines showing through my pants and visible to others, and they should have enough material between the legs to comfortably tuck everything or if you're not tucking and just wearing them under your pants then they should be made to feel comfortable all day. Sizes should all be in men's sizes so there is no converting from women's to men's. I wear a 10.5" men's shoe, that's what I should be ordering in heels. Same goes for stockings and pantyhose, weight and height according to the average male. I'm sure something more standard could be worked out for dresses, skirts and blouses sizewise.

Another big issue I have is; why can't the selection of clothing sold on "clothing for crossdressers" sites include clothes and lingerie for everyday wear and not just sexy lingerie and clubbing clothes.

Im so glad somebody mentioned this on this thread...when I first read it I started thinking about plus size clothing....I mean if you look at sites for large clothes all you see are skinny models...I guess companies only wanna put what looks good on their sites, not saying plus size women dont look good cause heck I look good ha ha and im not saying that they shouldnt have men in lingerie...its just advertising and I think it sucks to be quite honest

I think if a company is gonna advertise something specific their models should be what they are advertising cause well I know that as a plus size woman I wont look as good as the size 10 model they are using.......but we buy the clothes anyway lol so they probably dont really care

You should not do your shopping there anyway

90% of commercial sites that cater to crossdressers have a CD tax included. Usually that is about 100%. Or in other words you pay about double (at best) for what you could get the same item for on a site that sells womans clothing. These people are not interested in our community buy they do want to take your money.

    Men modeling womens clothes!

There is a crossdressing site that uses men to model womens clothes. I have seen others as well. But have yet to see crossdressers model womans clothes. The site I saw a while back has men that do not look like crossdressers, just hunks in dresses.

When I find it I will post it.

JaneDoe311, do you mean xdress.com? The models on that site have their models so buff that they could double as Playgirl centerfolds.

It reminds me of how sex toys used to be (and still are in some places) marketed as "personal massagers".

Oh, my very first post! YaY! For me!

Ya know, I am a larger gal and such I noticed many stores that make clothes for us "big boned" individuals do market towards men as well and wondered why they never used a male model then? Kinda seems like common sense but I suspect most don't want to be "labeled."

I have a home biz (jewelry - web address on my profile <shameless biz plug> ) and my ABSOLUTE BEST CUSTOMERS and most awesome shows are in CD'ing "circle" so to speak. (Hence me lurking about here being a sponge and learning.) I want to be able to tailor to their needs so where better to learn how to present and meet their needs than by learning in a community just like this one!?

I gotta tell you, I have been reading for 2 days straight and you have a terrific family here - - anyone could learn a thing or two about unconditional love and acceptaance here!

    Hugs to each of you!
    Nicole
