    Your Job

    Hi Everyone,

I was wondering what kind of jobs everyone has. I know that all my life I have had many jobs that are manual labor jobs and I always out perform everyone else. I guess I feel that I need to show them that I am a real man, although deep inside I know I am female inside. I am a semi driver now and unload my loads myself and faster than all the others as we go to the same places to unload all the time and I get compliments on how fast I do unload and complaints that I am to fast. I have worked as a Highway Maintenance Worker doing everything from Laying concrete, cutting brush, Jack hammer work all kinds, and everything! I have built a garage myself, I have done alot of the things all by myself as I do not have that many friends. I have been screwed over by many male friends in the past and I am very leary of anyone. Well back to my questions. How many of you have worn items under your clothes without anyone noticing. In the winter time I have done this many many times. Lately I think I have been pushing it though and I don't need to get caught as it would be the end of my job.
    GOD BLESS YA ALL!!!

I know exactly what you are talking about, Amy. I have made a career of switching careers for much the same reasons. I've done hot-tar roofing, construction, welding, just about everything except soldiering. I've had office jobs in management, and under my Armani I was wearing DKNY or Calvin Klein hosiery. Yep, been there and done that
Right now, I am in the process of obtaining a MS in Education. I want to teach PhysEd and science in the NYC PS system

Then that will take care of soldiering on your resume.

I was thinking about that the other day, wondering whether there are correlations between CD and occupation. I was thinking vaguely about a poll, but gave that up when I remembered how over-generalized standard questions about occupation end up being. I'm "government" according to most of them -- now what the heck does that tell you about what I do?
Polls here only accept 10 choices, and that just doesn't seem enough. The classifications available in 10 questions probably wouldn't have room for anything more specific than (say) "science".

Myself, I've pretty much always worked in the fields of science computing or communications computing.

I've spent a lot of time in state government, the publishing industry and journalism, academia as a graduate student, libraries, and religion. Also a brief time in show business. I've always underdressed some of the time, but not 24/7, 365. Interestingly, after state government, all of my career efforts have been in professions where women are becoming or already are the majority.

    My job

I too am a tow truck driver and I dress 24/7 and have quite a time with the customers(girl talk with the GG's) and the guys really don't know what to think . The dispatchers always want to chek out my nail colors when I change the color or when I dye my hair.I get along very well with the people I work with and enjoy dressing on a regular basis.

    lucky me

at least for now,i work at red lobster restaurant.they give insurance to gay/lesbian couples, have the same dress code for all genders.i wear panties and blouses, for now.we all wear white shirts with buttons,it is a policy.it also states there are no restrictions on who can wear pantyhose instead of socks and who can wear makeup or perfume.
i have also had lots of jobs,i think if i transition,i'd stop it,i've done mcdonalds, metal fab 2 places,3 auto shops, boat marina, hardware store, radio station, and some lil side jobs at construction places.i'm tired of going through jobs.

hi, michelle. wondered the same thing myself over the years. i have come to the conclusion that many of us have. there does seem to be an element of over-compensating for our femme sides with macho jobs.methinks i need to start a separate thread to discuss this. but yes i guess we all must have worn girly things under our male clothes, some of us more than others.

Retired firefighter. No wearing fem underthings when you sleep in a dorm at the station with a bunch of guys. But, now retired, and wearing at least underthings 24/7

I work in the Radiation Protection field. When I was an instructor I would under dress often. Now I am back out in the field and can not because I have to change into company clothing when I get to work. I do not think it would be wise to be wearing panties and a bra and have to change clothes in a room full of men.

    Analyze THIS!

    Wow what a thread!

Ok, I had been in mental health since 1977. (shrink)
I had an advertising company for several years,
then went into music then into sales
and then retial stores (where I really made money)
All the while maintaining at least the minimal client/patient requirement to maintain my professional credentials.

I did this by sleeping very little over 25 years, and working almost constantly. It was a lot of fun.

Anyhow, as an experienced analyst I see a very similar overcompensating trend here. Men will compete over drag racing or log splitting or who can work harder, faster, better etc.

I had a great friend (recently passed on)
We had a sort of competition from the late seventies to start and run business successfully.
He won by the way, but we both worked very hard at this.
He was runing seven companies when he died.

    I was running two, companies
plus a successful family counseling practice,
    (third)
and starting a new construction company (fourth)
and I was the president of a national charity and on the board of another!
Really this is all incidental and I only tell this to point out we may all have the same disease but we just act it out a little differently.

I rarely talk about it this stuff these days.
But I have settled down ad re-thought many things since my friends death.

I have wondered why any man feels compelled to work so hard.
Now for the first time in my life I am only doing ONE THING!!
(Wonder how long that will last...)
I am now simply a contractor and retired from all counseling.
(Although I have taken three emergency suicide calls this year)

Let me end with this, I have been working in a clients house finishing a renovation.
The woman who owns the house commented on some of my habits.

For example I actually ask people for directions if I get lost and I never ever leave the toilette seat up and a few other work habits.

She said that I was amazingly female in some of my thoughts and patterns.

And I was suitably honoured and very flattered.

So there. I am no longer compelled to over compensate.

    Jestina.
