I'm 32, I think I look a few years younger than I am, though. Don't we all?

When I started, I was old enough to make my own "lingerie" by cutting up boy's underwear and sewing on lace by hand to make a bra and panties. But young (and stupid) enough to think that under my pillow was a safe stashing place. Of course, borrowed the real thing from the hamper on a regular basis too.

Only bought my first wig a few years ago and I'm still in the closet, so I do feel I'm off to a late start. I wish I had embraced this side of me while living single in college instead of purging. Could've really used these websites then.

I'm fiftyseven here and in CD years fiftyfive and as far as being out in public I'm just four days old. So this is strange. My cousin and I were trying on old clothes when were were about nine and I borrowed a pair of my sisters panties to ware. LOL! He thought I was queer for doing so. LOL! Gee if he only knew now. WOW! Just passed the double nickels mark this year. Looking at myself in the mirror, seeing that old person, I really wonder how pretty I could have looked thirty years ago. But I was not into this "hobby" then so it is make do with what I have now.

Depends. Physically I feel like I'm 80, mentally about 12, and chronologically 39.

I startd to dress when I was 12 wearing my mom's clothes. Once I moved out and started to live on my own, I really started to get into it. I bought my first pair of heels at 21. Bought and purged for several years and now starting to get more items for my wardrobe.

Hi girls and thank you it seems a few of us have only been dressing for a few years. did you know my psychiatrists said that most of us start at an Early age ( common factor ) and Manny of us don't come out until we reach 40 something also common. well i am right in there and also diagnosed " gender identity disorder " tell me something i did not know . so thank you for teaching me. thanks to all of you i am learning everyday you are the best

yes I was about 6 when a babysitter dressed me up so her daughter had someone to play with. I was made up in 9th grade in a school play and loved the look in the mirror and was hooked. Went in public at 19, been out since, now I'm 31.

Seventy-two. ...and I never noticed them (The years, that is...) coming. They just "sneaked" up on me while I wasn't looking. Or maybe I was just peering at myself in the mirror!

I really love dressing - went out in public to a casino in Vegas on Haloween Saturday - that's a really safe thing to do - people just say, "Oh look, there's anther one!" So I just don't think about it - at all. I was on a high!

Started when I was 12, had to take a few years off when I was in college, and then again when I was newly married - but it is like bicycle riding - once you learn, you can pick it up right away - even if you have been away from it for a long time!
