    I'm 5ft 8ins

Once I saw a 'gurl' walking in the street who was over 6ft. But she carried herself so well the height didn't seem to be a problem at all.

It's all still down to confidence.

I'm still under 6" in my 5" stiletto pumps. Vertically challenged? As a guy, yes. As a gurl, well, it's great to reach the top shelf of the cupboard without jumping and stretching. Boy those heels are an uplifting experience! hehe

I'm 5'9" and my wife is 5'11" Where I feel bad for her is in the leg department. My inseam is 32" so I can usually pick pants anywhere including women's. My wife's inseam is 36" so for her to find anything is a struggle.

I'm also one of the lucky ones, being only 5'5". Heels aren't a problem for us.

    A quick note...

Wearing heels does not make you taller by the height of the heels. For example wearing 4" heels only makes you, maybe, 2 1/2 inches taller. If you don't believe this, measure yourself with and without heels.

It has to do with the "fulcrum" of your foot, which is around the ankle, not the heel, and it determines how much height is added.

Think of a seesaw, even if one side is raised high, the "fulcrum" at the center is lower. It's kind of the same principle.

I'm 5'11" without heels but my legs(my only real nice feature) look great in heels, and the higher the better so doorjams beware.

5 foot 8. Just short enough for most any style fulcrum.

    5'9"

Just short enough that I don't stand out too bad in heels. I know a lot of GGs that are my height or taller.

I am 5'-10" and usually wear a size 11 if I can find a wide enough width, otherwise i have to go to a 12.

Mitzi, You are correct. There is a geometric progression that causes this phenomenom. Try it at home. Measure yourself with and without heels.

I am 5'9" tall and am well under 6' tall in 3-1/2" heels. BTW, I know a number of women that are as tall or taller than I am who regularly wear 3-4" heels with pride.

5'11" here. I don't feel too tall when I'm out "dressed" until I get in a check out line or something where I tower over the GGs.

Is it impossible to find cute flats?

I am 6'- 1.5" on bare feet and I always wear "flat" ballerina's with a 1" heel...and no one seems to notice... I also have a pair of pumps with a 4" heel and I wear those also on my regular Mall shopping tours. No problem with the public... but a problem on my feet. I can't walk more than an hour in them... But I love walking in them regardless.

I buy my shoes on line at designershoes.com and Angelfire they have cute ballerina's in sizes over 12... Here are mine if you want to check them and the sizes out ...

I got those in pink... and I am waiting for the following shoes to arrive in taupe...

    http://www.designershoes.com/designe...E58J6TTDUJ9DC7

BTW: I bought them both on sale for 29.90 each...

So your size doesn't have to be a problem. And when you are tall, bigger feet are normal... at least they don't stand out.

    Dita.
