Cd posse AKA safety in numbers AKA networking

For those timid about going out, what about if you were in a small group?

There is certainly a good safety aspect in moving in a small group. Many GGs do so because of that. Sure you might not pass as easily but the chance of one in a group of 3-5 CDs coming up with a snappy comeback is a lot higher than one lone CD.

There is confidance and comfort support and strength in being different publicly with friends.

Also on a related topic I notice that many minorities become more successful through direct networking with people from the same minority. Now I wouldn't advocate that to the point of corruption or nepotism but it could be a source of support and success for those who are otherwise disadvantaged. Affirmative action at the grass-roots level if you will.

So then do you think that it would be a good idea for CDs to network, to go out in groups? Raising visability but also support?

Support groups do this all the time. I think it's a good idea as long as no-one in the group does anything adverse to draw attention or cause the others embarassment..

    And it can be fun.

Sure, sometimes groups alone draw attention, but if you aren't embarassed by who you are, then I wouldn't worry about the attention, as long as it's not threatening. And there is usually safety in numbers.

Safety in numbers definitely, but it doesn't have to be with other cd's

Just out dressed with friends who know me feels a damn site safer than walking back to my car alone at some late hour

I think the greater problem is with our partners...

If we say we're going out for the night with other trannies we're gay, if we're out dressed with other GGs then we've obviously want our wicked way with them, goodness knows what they'd think if we walked the dog whist enfemme

    I agree...

My I think going out with others with similar interests is the basis for any relationship we have and this is no different. Lori & I have discussed getting together with others (still hoping to get the plan together Emily ) and as a GG getting to gether with other couples and single cders is something I am looking forward to and yet am "holding my breath in anticipation". I also thing that forums such is this is another way to gain support and that's why I am so thankful this one exists. KUDOS to the creator & moderators.

    Group safety

Hi : I agree with the safety in numbers although I don't practise it myself. I have gone out in a lot of places that others would consider dangerous and I didn't have any problems. With that said I am always alert to my surroundings and leave if I don't feel comfortable. I have gone to a number of group activities with other Cd's and it was a rich and rewarding experience. Everyone is different and I go with the rule if it feels right do it. Love Kahlan
