"How many 4th grade boys tried on their mom's high heels?"

There is a TV show on Game Show Network. It asks the participants to name the percentage of "how many people do this" or whatever.

There was one question: "How many 4th grade boys tried on their mom's high heel shoes". I thought it was an interesting question, so I decided to share it here.

The answer was 57%. I have a feeling it is lower than the actual number because of the embarrassment some might feel if they answered truthfully.

The contestant himself that answered the question admitted to doing it, although I'm not sure if he was joking or not. He stated that he kept braking the heels off because he is a little heavier set guy.

    Makes you think...

I believe the show was originally aired 1978-1981

Yes it makes you think. The trouble with surveys on this subject is you suspect people aren't answering truthfully, but you don't know...
My mother didn't go for high heel shoes. In fact all her shoes were very sensible and didn't appeal to me very much at all, all the time my feet would still fit in them.

Well, it is how I started. So, I'm one of the 57%.

I guess I was 5 or 6, so my mother used to tell me, when I discovered myself. This probably made me the happiest little girl in the neighborhood.

I think the percentage is probably higher. Who could resist the allure of a pretty pair of pumps.

It never even dawned on my to try on her high heels at that age. I DID have what I term a "fear of lipstick" at that age----but nothing remotely CD till age 12, when alone and in an especially beave mood, I applied my mother's Lipstick to MYSELF to sorta "face" that odd fear----THEN One thing rapidly led to another till by age 13 I was wearing everything---But Damnit, the shoes were too narrow to fit by then---I DID find an old pair in the trash I could SQUEEZE into though for a while.

I don't believe my mother ever owned a pair of heels. Pitiful, huh?

In a recent French TV show, the subject of X-dressing was ratjher well covered, I mean at least they didn't say too many stupid things...

Among the invited people there was a psychiatrist. I was fearing the worst from him. Actually he said some very sensible things on the subject.

He said that most young men had tried on his mom's shoes or even som of their mom's clothes, and he added that it was a "normal" thing to do in a child experience of growing.

Yeah, I tried on my Mom's Heels in the 4Th grade, I also tried them on in the 3Rd grade, and right on back to pre school. Now go forward till about the 8Th grade, then I suddenly stopped! Yes, my feet got too big, had to acquire my own.

Boys who tried their Sister's pumps in the 4Th grade? Yes again! Boys who tried on their Mom's and Sister's lingerie, yes again. Mom's and Sis's dresses....uh-huh.

Hmmm, I'm noticing a trend here!

    Peace and Love, Joanie

If you can't wear heels, what's the sense of dressing?......

With over 50% of respondents willing to admit that they have experimented, it would seem that the next question would be "Did you enjoy the experience?" and "How many times?". The replies here indicate that this was much more than experimenting. Certainly was for me also.

By the time I had the guts to attempt to try on my mom's shoes... my feet had grown much larger than hers!
