Mine is Avia, something to contrast with my old fashioned first name and short which I prefer.

Amy, I chose Jill mostly because it was a no brainer, Just change one letter in my male name (Bill). However a middle name is a little more difficult. Should it be another one syllable name, or should I try two syllables? I want something that rolls off the tongue but doesn't clash with Jill. Maybe I could consult a list of girls names to find an appropriate one. Luv and Jill

mine, too. i have a lttle girl with the last name of Leighpronounced Lee and i would use it except in print people might think its pronounced Lay and that it was a randy or floozy double entendre.

Mine is Linda Marie Bates. No particular reason other than the fact I just like the name.

I googled what would go nice with Katie, and found Ashe sits nice with me, and it is different. So there she is... Lee was my middle name before I changed it, sorry no support on that one.

How's about Laylaa for a middle name? or change the spelling if you like...

My middle name is Carol. My mother told me that if I had been born a girl, she would have called me Elizabeth. I like that name, but I like Linnea and I didn't think that it went well with Elizabeth (in either order, first or middle). I took Linnea Carol partly because of a Swedish taxonomist/biologist Carl Linneaus.
There's a bird called a linnet, and there is a flower called Linnea: both are very pretty. I like the thought of both of them.

    Emily,

    The two main reasons.

Caroline Emily Anderson is the main character from a novel I wrote, who is essentially me as a teen.

    I admire Emily Dickenson.

That, and why settle on one pretty sounding girls name, when you can have two.

Lora, I'm not sure if that is who I was thinking of. I seem to remember a pop star in the eighties maybe she was teen pop star. Oh well either way I've chosen the names I love and won't be changing them any time soon.
Oh speaking of the eighties, did anyone love the big hair as much as I did? I still do come to think of it.

my middle name and one for Jill if she wants it

My mother told me they had picked out Marie and then discovered she had a son. Besides, I though Marie went well in between Sarah and Charles.
Honestly, I really don't know where any of this comes from, but I'm glad it's here.

    Jill Dupree sounds good.

This is really interesting. I did not know so many had really thought of a middle name.

I chose Elyse. When the show "Family Ties" was on (remember Michael J. Fox's debut?), the mom was named Elyse. I really love it. It's just SO damned girly!

Mine is Marie. My mother told me that if I'd been born a girl (A little before ultrasound) my name would have been Kaitlyn Marie. I actually chose the name without realizing what I'd done. Hello?? Yes, it's Dr. Freud on the phone for you.

    MIddle Name

I never really thought about this until reading this thread. I gave myself the girl name Susan many years ago but I have never had the pleasure of hearing anyone call me this. Sure I am called this online but it is not the same as actually hearing it. If I gave myself a middle name it would be Ruth, my childhood sweetheart. I still think of her even though we parted ways as children around 1962.

Christine Marie. I have 3-female cousins with Marie as their middle name. This way I fit right in.
