Ich bin ein ....?
I have a number of skirts that I would like taken in at the side, and hit upon the idea of taking them to the lady who does alterations at the local dry-cleaner shop (she altered the legs of a couple of pairs of trousers for me), if I was to pin a new seam line. However she is German and she may ask why the seams should be taken in but not the waist. I want to quietly tell her they are for me; avoiding drawing the attention of customers in the dry cleaning area.
An alternative thought is a sewing machine, to which I have access. Is it simply a matter of sewing in a new seam from the waistband to the hem and then unpicking the original?
Any help will be greatly appreciated
