When you do not complete your attire...

A few months back, because of my job I was staying in a hotel for a week. The second day, when I arrive to my room, Idecided to put my tamara's clothes, but I was too tired to put my wig, and having a full makeup.

Then I decided to wear a mini with black thigh hose, black hig heels, my breastforms and a nice blouse, together with my bracelets, earrings and a pendant, and of course, my lipstick.

I was just chating on my computer when somebody knocked at the door. At that moment, I just forgot what I was wearing, and I just simply open the door to see the guy from room service who was coming to check out my minibar.

He stared at me, and then I realized what was happening. After a few seconds, that seemed like an eternity to me, the guy asked my permission and entered to check the refrigerator.

Although the guy did not said anything to me, I had such a strong feeling that every hotel employee was staring at me during the rest of the whole week.

So remember. If you do not complete your attire, make sure that you are not going to open the door if somebody knocks....

That's too funny!!! I'll bet they were looking at you for sure.... I always complete my attire and then after that.... I'm almost never in the room .... Out the door... To the mall or dinner.. Or a movie... Casino... .

    Hi Tamara,

Oooh .... bad one! ..... well maybe not bad but quite unexpected.

It's funny how sometimes we dress not the whole way (I sometimes do this at home) and seemingly feel so comfortable that we "forget" how we are dressed. I've answer the front door at least once like this. It was a little alarming as I instantly remembered as I opened the door

I'm sorry, but I have to ask: What is so wrong with one of us dressing only part way? I mean, isn't it still an expression of who we are? It's so funny (sort of) that if we dress "all the way" we would get less stares. Very interesting.

I second this. We talk of accepting others for who they are then we put down dressing somewhere in the middle. Do we accept all CDers here or not?

No wig and makeup presenting my male self is my preferred way of CDing. My experience has been others take their initial acceptance from you. If your attitude is that it is not big deal they are more likely to treat it as such. But if you are suddenly nervous and up tight they will think there is something wrong. IMHO we are our own worse enemy when it comes to acceptance. If you want acceptance from others accept yourself first and quit being ashamed of being seen as who you are. It was a hotel employee that did not know you and you would never see again. It does not matter what they thought of you. What matters is what you think of you. You are in your room being who you are. You do not need to act like you answered the door naked with a red streamer hanging from something.

Standard disclaimer: Going out of the house was right for me, it may or may not be right for you. If you've got no desire to leave the house, that's fine, I'm not trying to push you out the door. But for those who've been yearning to do so, I just want to let you know the world may not be as scary a place as you think.

I have to agree with the last two posts. As I have started living my new life with the freedom to dress as I please for the most part at home I dress in femme clothes without forms, makeup or wig. It feels very natural and right to me. As I grow in my acceptance of this state it becomes easier to just be me regardless. So for example, I am dressed up partially and I need to put some recycling in the outside bin, before I would have changed, now I just go out and drop it in.

We are our own worst enemy in all of this, if we stop hiding and stop feeling there is something wrong then over time we will educate the rest of the public around us that it is just another different lifestyle as normal as any other lifestyle that people live.

We change others by first changing ourselves. Accept within to help acceptance without.
What stop do I get off at? Hmmm...

    Tamara,
Most of my dressing is in hotels, and I don't have a wig or use makeup. While I can relax, I am always aware of the room door and the possibility of someone coming into the room. Housekeeping has several times tried to enter the room without first knocking. I have even had other guests try to come in after the front desk messed up and gave them the key to my room. I always use the chain or bar on the door.

Several times I have left my femme clothing out while I was out of the room, only to find that the housekeeping staff had been in the room and kindly folded it and placed it on the bed or chair. Since I was supposedly in the room alone, I always wondered who they thought the clothing belonged to.

BTW, When I was in college I worked at a Holiday Inn delivering room service. It was an eye opening experience. The first time that I went to a room and the door was answered by a naked woman, I was surprised, but it wasn't the last time that it happened. I had many other strange encounters with guests. Much like the medical workers who have pretty much seen it all, hotel workers see a lot of strange things too. All a part of the job.

I dress up all the time at home, but I'm always aware of what I'm wearing when the doorbell rings... Simply wouldn't happen to me.

Just for all of you to know. I always lock the door of the hotel rrom, and I am always very aware of what I am wearing. But that day, I was so focused on what I was doing (And I do not even remeber what it was), that I just stood up to unlock the door so I was able to keep doing whatever I was doing.

Hopefuly, not only this embarassing moment will not happen to me again, but also you will use it to remember not to get too much carried away with other obligations. Just enjoy yourself when in femmme. Love to go all the way and feel femminine.

And if you are part of the group that are passed the point where you care what other people think, congratulations. Perhaps some day most of us will reach that point

    Huggs to everyone!!!

I was actually caught once like that. I was in a hotel on a business trip and had finished my business for the day early. I went back to the hotel room and had changed into my female clothes, but had no makeup or a wig on.

When I got back to the room, the bed was made, there were no housekeeping carts on the floor, the room looked neat just like they were done. What I didn't realize was that there were no towels in the bathroom. So as I'm working on my laptop, housekeeping opened the door to put towels in the bathroom and of course saw me all dressed up(minus makeup and wig). She had a very surprised look on her face....

Since then, I always make sure I put the chain or whatever else is there to lock the door just in case.
