Smile I came out to my mom (and it went well)!

Well, it was pretty unexpected. We were just sitting around, and I decided that it felt like a pretty good time to say it. To my surprise, she was entirely supportive of me and actually kind of expected it. I told her the plan that I'm going to wait until I graduate from college and have a stable job and everything, and she said that even after the transition I'll be welcome in family gatherings and whatnot. I'm glad I don't have to give up family...I was kind of worried that I'd have to ditch everyone and never say anything so they'd never know about me being a guy and stuff. I'm just really excited that it went well.

Well awesome for you. This the type of post that brings me here. My mom never discussed zilch with me even after finding my girlie stash over and over again.

Glad your mom was so cool about it. When I told mine about me wearing dresses, she said she'd love me no matter what. She also said if she ever saw me in public she just might be embarrassed. Pretty much, "its ok, but not around me"

Congrats, Eli. I'm always happy to hear success stories when people come out to their parents, 'cause a lot of the time it goes otherwise.

So . . . you think your mom might want to adopt me?
