How do they handle that at the dmv?Originally Posted by eileen1969

I choose Marilyn for my alltime favorite Marilyn Monroe.
It was actually pretty easy for my wife to give me my girl name, after I had used several different name but I really wasn't happy with any of them, well my wife said your name is Carey just change the spelling to a Girls spelling after all it's a unisex name.

A most interesting thread. It is fun to learn what we could name ourselves if left up to us.
Sherry came from a song. I don't remember the title (I'm terrible about such things) but I'm sure some of you will recognize the line:
"Sherry, won't you come out and play?"
I've had it for almost 10 years. Sherry has her own credit card (and much better credit than her male persona), and gets mail in her name.
My porn name would be Spots Beacon (using the pet/street).

I remember the song!---Sherry, sherry baby, won't you come out tonight!------Those were the leryics!---Yes, I remember it!!!!----------------Now, as for MY name, -------I picked my avatar, and then looked down at my hosed legs, & heels, ( which are the only good looking part of me) and then thought about how I feel most of the time,---and came up with "Hot Lust Walking"!----Thats it!Originally Posted by Miss Sherry

Miss Sherry how did you get the credit card and have better credit with out a social security card? in which case you would still have the same credit as your male counter part. Maybe you could start a thread on how to build a new identity.

I'm wondering..... could you, (if - heaven forbid - the authorities wanted to do something nasty to you,) be done for fraud? I'm not sure. Another grey area in the law!Originally Posted by Miss Sherry

I'm older and don't exactly feel sexy and beautiful. So I chose a plain name that didn't come anywhere near close to my real name.
Hugs girls,
Emily Ann
In 6th grade there was this beautiful girl named Mona who always seemed mysterious because she didn't talk much or have many friends, I always wanted to get to know her so now in a way I guess I do.
I just chose a name that I liked and I felt suited me.
My problem then was that when I transitioned I used that name as my 'adopted' name, so I had to think of another name for when I come here (on the off-chance that someone who knows me comes here).
Anne
I never chose my name, I was christened by a former GF whom I was with in the early to mid 90s and used to help me dress.
One day she had helped with my dressing and make-up and announced that she didn't want to keep calling me by my male name so when I was dressed she would call me Gemma.
She said it was her favourite name and what she had wanted to be called when she was a little girl.
Until then my femme persona never had a name. We split up 10 years ago but I still use the name now, even though I only started dressing again recently.
Aspen with the help of a friend came up with her full name last night. We were thinking about my favorite kind of glistening and shimmering tree.we talked about why I liked it and then looked at my personality and humor and my cd friend said my last name should be colorado because thats where aspen trees grow and all that was left was my middle name tree so that everyone knows what motivated aspen. so here it is ASPEN TREE COLORADO. LOL I gues thats a good drag name to What do you think

My fem name is derived form my first name James and my fem last name is for my love of warm weather. Both were given to me by a gay friend of mine. Love being Jessica It feels so naturally for me to be dressed.

I really don't want to get off-subject, but I do feel I should clarify something.
What I meant by Sherry having better credit ... her card is a "second name" card, using my initial credit/SS, etc. but from a different bank than my others. However; that account is only used by her, exclusively. When she applied (and received) a JC Penny card, that was the only reference used.
Sorry if I mislead anyone, it wasn't intentional but written more in jest.
I love the name Aspen ... unusual, soft, and rather lyrical!
Sherry doesn't have a middle name .. M.m.m.m Sherry Aspen Broten
Mind if I borrow it?
